Fried corn tortilla as in chips or as in a quesadilla/burrito sized peanut butter and fluff "sandwich".

fwiw, peanut butter and marshmallow fluff is a combo so good, it would be hard (and a shame, but not impossible) to mess up.

Griff 04-01-2005 12:07 PM

burrito sized and quite yummy actually!

wolf 04-01-2005 12:42 PM

I've had peanutbutter and honey on a whole wheat tortilla ... hummus is really good too.

Trilby 04-01-2005 02:28 PM

Peanut butter, cream cheese and sweet pickles on a toasted bagel is delish!

Oh, and :3some: because I feel like putting that up there.

wolf 04-01-2005 02:55 PM

All of those? at once?? with pickles?????? :greenface  :eek3: :vomitblu:

Heck yeah... I love to take a spoonful of peanut butter and stick mini marshmellows in it.

Yes, but I don't think you're a "pickle" girl, right? You can skip the pickles and put raisins on instead!! :)

Griff 04-01-2005 08:16 PM

or blue m&ms

I can't eat raisins in other foods.

Toast, Cinnamon Buns, Oatmeal Cookies, Granola Bars, Hot Tasty Oatmeal, Raisinettes ... no go.

They are fine by themselves.

In moderation.

But I still would egg the houses of anyone that tried to pass off those little boxes as a Halloween Goodie.

Even Raisin Bran?? And raisins are a fine Halloween treat... provided they have been soaking in grain for a month or so and then put back in their li'l boxes. [/smirk]

wolf 04-02-2005 01:56 AM

No, not even in Raisin Bran. Or added to any other cereal. On food is equivalent to in food when it comes to raisins.

Trilby 04-02-2005 08:58 AM

Pickles, raisins...what's the deal, wolf? Next thing you know you'll be telling us you don't like :spam1:

wolf 04-02-2005 12:38 PM

I really like Spam!

Fried, in a sandwich with ketchup. Or with eggs. Diced and mixed up in Mac n Cheese.

Spam, spam, spam, spam, baked beans, spam, spam, spam, and spam ...

I think you get the idea.

Underwood Devilled Ham is some pretty cool stuff too ...

Mmmm...Deviled Ham and Potted Meat Food Product! I had no idea there were so many different brands of this...uh...stuff.

wolf 04-02-2005 01:14 PM

I haven't been able to locate it recently, but there was a Devilled Spam product for a while. I'm guessing it didn't sell well in an already competitive not quite meat market ...

gingerdumbandproud 04-08-2005 08:16 AM

Ne1 ever tried chocolate and chips (or fries to the americano's)
Over here in wales we also had mars bars in batter. im still a bit :eyebrow: over those though

chainsaw 04-08-2005 01:43 PM

My favoritest thing in the world is salty stuff covered in chocolate. Every December we have a fondue party and I load up on the salty snacks to dip/drown in the chocolate fondue: potato chips, pretzels, Ritz cracker peanut butter sandwiches, etc.

I would die without peanut butter...seriously.

Lunaephiliac 04-09-2005 10:14 AM

Personally, I can't stand spaghetti or potato chips. And beef jerky makes me naseous. But I can eat anything else. Weird, eh?:gray: :)

zippyt 04-10-2005 12:05 AM

cranberrys are the devils nuts as far as i am concerned !!!!!
EVIL EVIL little red berrys !!!!!

mrnoodle 04-11-2005 02:27 PM

my mom used to make a "salad" when we were poor. She found the recipe in one of those horrid 50's-style cookbooks a la Lileks Gallery of Regrettable Food. This unholy concoction was composed of a leaf of iceberg lettuce, atop which was a pineapple ring, a dollop of Miracle Whip (R) brand pig semen, and shredded cheddar cheese.

Miracle Whip. Even the words bring ugly thoughts to mind.

For those of you keeping track, dill pickles rule. Particularly fried.

I just recently tried deep fried pickles and LOVED THEM SO MUCH! I never woulda thought....

My mom used to make a wilted-lettuce salad by pouring bacon grease over leaf lettuce and adding onions and, I think, sugar and vinegar. Interesting.

BigV 04-11-2005 07:34 PM

Was in a new (to me) store this weekend and saw something so surprising. In this day of lite this and free that, there was jar of mayonaise. Heavy Duty Mayonaise. I don't mean a 55 gal drum, I mean a regular home scale jar of the white stuff, only this was "Heavy Duty".

Yes, I made a spectacle (auracle) of myself by laughing out loud in the aisle.

Definitely with you on that one... salty and sweet is SO delicious. sometimes I'll grab a Hershey bar and a bag of pretzels and just toss one of each in my mouth (or peanuts instead of pretzels).

Trilby 04-12-2005 10:35 AM

The great big Enourmous Omelet Sandwich at Burger King? DON'T DO IT.

wolf 04-12-2005 10:38 AM

Sycamore digs it.

Trilby 04-12-2005 10:43 AM

I can't explain Sycamore's infatuation. Bacon was limp and tasteless, same for the sausage and the "toasted roll" was the same bun they use for that lame chicken sandwhich they used to have. Sucked. For my money and calories I'll go to McDonalds.

wolf 04-12-2005 10:57 AM

I have always preferred the BK Breakfasts, particularly the ones involving sausage. I avoid fast food bacon even more than I typically avoid fast food ... (I have a FFbreakfast a couple of times a year, usually when I'm doing a stretch of dayshifts to cover for the boss, otherwise, I don't eat that crap. Even if I really like it). The Egg McMuffin is just too boring, although a coworker told me the griddle sandwiches are tasty.

monicakat 04-14-2005 12:04 AM

I love the regular saugase biscuit from McDonalds. Plain sausage and egg on a biscuit. And it's only $1. Yum.

chainsaw 04-14-2005 04:20 PM

I had a sausage biscuit from McD's once. Once. It had hard, boingy things in it. :vomit:
I’ll stick with a generic egg McMuffin with no ham and put my hash browns inside along with tons of ketchup. :thumb:

Back to the sweet/salty thing... Warm, salty, buttery popcorn with Raisinets sprinkled on top. The chocolate melts a little and makes a big mess, but man :yum: I can't have popcorn anymore, so if you try this, think of me.

melidasaur 04-14-2005 11:06 PM

Sausage Biscuit from BoJangles... now that hits the spot.

I hate eggs... they are the devil's food.

BigV 04-14-2005 11:49 PM

Raisinets. :hurl:

What a waste of good chocolate. Raisins, in my estimation, are merely grapes that couldn't make the wine cut.

wolf 04-15-2005 01:29 AM

That is the best description of raisins I have ever heard.

But I think I remember to establish that while I can eat raisins alone in small amounts, I can't abide having them in other foods.

I just put the chocolate on the popcorn directly. Or better still, have some commercial enterprise do it for me.

Mrs. Prindable's (the apple people) makes an awesome version, and Harry and David's Moose Munch is more than merely acceptable. And there's a picture of a nice moose on the package as a bonus.

OMG. I forgot about that. We got ONE package of it in a Christmas gift basket at work. I stole it. It was like nothing I've ever experienced. Time to make an online purchase.

wolf 04-16-2005 01:47 AM

Get some of the Royal Riviera Pears to go with it. You will not regret this. Besides, you'll save on shipping or something. They usually have some kind of a deal. The last time I ordered, I got to make a bonus order at 40 or 50% off.

Assuming you like pears.

staceyv 04-16-2005 11:21 AM

chainsaw- why can't you eat popcorn? did you get braces or something?

Every yeah, I ask for someone to enroll me in the Harry and David Fruit of the Month Club or just buy me a box of those pears. No one ever does. :(

Fucking brilliant. I'm running to McDonald's as soon as ... I can eat food like that again. :mad2:

I'm dying to try one of those Burger King monstrosities. Any reports from the cardiac cath labs yet?

I also yearn for the Fruit of the Month Club.

They got fruits on there that they don't sell separately, and damn they look good.

I gave my sister the Pearsnapples gift box this year, and my mom got one of the towers. They know that I typically buy gifts for other people that I would like for myself, so hopefully one of them will get the hint for next year.

jaguar 04-17-2005 02:39 PM

I've been working for moving towards 2 days straight now, food supplies were getting a little low so dinner was most of a jar of pickled onions, a pork pie, an apple and some crackers. My digestive system is already lodging complaints. Do not tread this path.

mrnoodle 04-18-2005 02:13 PM

That actually kind of sounds good. They all complement each other to some extent. Of course, this comes from someone who, on Friday, grilled a fabulous salmon steak and chased it with (I didn't have anything else good to eat in the house) about half a bag of York peppermint patties.

Wasn't planning on making dinner that night, but the salmon was about to go off, and I couldn't stand the thought of throwing it out.

jaguar 04-18-2005 02:35 PM

Well balanced it works well done right, 2 high-bake watercrackers with a scoop of hommous each to 1 small slick of apple and half a small picked onion is bliss. The improviso version was not such a hit, far too much acid.

Yes, I got braces, but I had to stop eating popcorn last August when I found out I have Crohn's disease. :( I can't eat anything fun anymore and I've gone from weighing 147 back in Aug down to 119 today. Stupid Crohn's. :rar:

Sweets 04-29-2005 01:23 AM

Odd food combo, not many people like, but I LOVE:

Get canned or jarred pear halves, dab some miracle whip in the middle, sprinly with a little bit of finely grated cheddar cheese. MMMMMMMM

Don't knock it till you try it! It really does sound disgusting, but together, they have quite the taste.
