Is that ring at the top front meant to be some kind of sight? 'cause I don't think that is the kind of gun you really aim. More of a point-in-the-general-direction-and-squeeze type gun.

Also, anyone notice Aardvark no 2 is short one missile?

Sure it is! Everything is the circle GOES AWAY.

Snake Killer.

glatt 05-26-2011 07:55 AM

those are tiny looking bullets. What caliber is that? It looks smaller than .22.

HungLikeJesus 05-26-2011 08:48 AM

I have the same one, but with different grips... and maybe a longer barrel.

Gravdigr 05-26-2011 01:12 PM

Nope, just a .22.

BigV 06-01-2011 06:11 PM

hey mercy... can you give any more information about that gun? I don't know anything about it. But I'm interested.

I'm also keenly interested in the .17HMR (from memory) as well. I reckon that ammunition won't work in this gun though.

V a .17 hmr is a Necked down .22wmr (.22 mag) wiki link
the pistol in the pic is a Ruger Mark 2 or 3 in .22 lr Wiki link

While a .22 lr is a Fine Rodent killer ( Ask Feetz the Chuck Sniper ) out to about 50-75 yards
a .22 wmr is a WHOLE Order of Magnitude Higher power , energy , and range wise , good for 100 yard hits
a .17 hmr is w WHOLE Magnitude Higher that the .22 wmr Much higher Velocity , Much more energetic Bullets , out standing Accuracy Past 100 yards ( I have seen You tube Vids of folks putting 3 out of 5 rounds THRU a Penny at 100+ yards !!! )
i have had folks that hunt squirles tell me you HAVE to Head shoot them if you want ANY Meat , other wise they Just splatter:eek:

A .22 lr is FAR Cheaper to shoot than Eather of the others I mentioned above and is Generally Most up to the task of taking out most Bunny sized critters

I hope this helps

The pistol is a Ruger 22/45 Bull barrel and it is my new object of desire with cocobolo checkered grips:

To me, the .22 Ruger is the gold standard for that size of handgun. Pretty cheap, plenty of ammo. I have never seen or shot a .17HMR. I have found over the years and the ownership of over 30 various firearms that the exotic the round, the more expensive they are are to use, shoot, and practice with. The Ruger with a Bull Barrel is the bomb and a tack driver. I also have a Ruger 10/22 Rifle with a bull barrel and can put rounds from previous shots in the same hole with a scope from 75 yards. Worth every penny in cost. But these are both Bull Barrel guns which I think makes a difference. JMHO.

Gun fanatics are like people who work out at the gym or diet experts, they all think they know better than anyone else with similar experience. I will never claim that.

Sorry feetz , but I have to dissagre with ya ,
its a Mk2-3 notice the sharp grip angle , like a Luger
the 22/45 has a straighter grip like a .45 acp Colt

Man, When I owned my 30-40 Krag/Jorgensen (A really gorgeous gun with amazing sights) the rounds cost $1.15 a piece and that was in 1983. a box of 20 rounds was like $25 dollars. I think I had to work like 4 hours to earn that much money then.
