I got an email from HLJ recently. I believe he is very busy right now. I still owe him, you, clod, pie, glatt, and maybe someone else photos. I've actually printed a few of them and now just have to get some cardboard, and write addresses on envelopes.

I am also a pro-carstinator, not an amateur crastinator.

I haven't been around since school started. Being a first year teacher is exhausting, especially since I get sick all the time. I'm hoping to start hanging around again in the summer. Hope everyone's doing well.

Ooo, wish I'd been a fly on the wall there. The man doesn't merely lack people skills, I don't believe he has any idea why anyone would want any, still less that he might use them himself. Been evident since first acquaintance. He never tried persuasion, but tried yelling and namecalling first, when I fucking told him over and over that my mind had freedom of thought and hence was not going to imitate his thought. He added delusional thinking atop the yelling after that... in the end, sad. Meanwhile, there's what Merc found... have to add it in a little later.

The job goes well! Right now I'm teaching 11th grade honors English and 10th grade regular English. All in all, I have about 150 students, and keeping up with them every day is a handful. Physically, mentally, and emotionally. Thankfully, 99% of them are nice kids and I have to say everything's going very smoothly.

Current concern with regards to teaching, asides from the usual budget cuts, is Florida's peabrained senate bill going through the works that will essentially take away job security and mangle reasonable pay. Fun stuff, but mostly I am focused on putting one foot in front of the other for the next nine weeks.

I think you are amazing. I can't imagine the excitement of your first year of teaching. It sounds like you are loving it, but I bet it isn't easy. You've obviously known for a long time that this is what you want to do and now you're doing it! Good for you! As most of us know, we remember our teachers, and some of them we remember as being awesome.

I'm back, now, with a lot of personal disdain at how the world's been run into the ground, these last few years! :mad2:

Like I said, in a previous post - I'm shocked people noticed me enough, whilst here, to notice me, whilst gone... Thanks, that made my day! ... and I've been having quite a few crappy ones, this last weekend... God damn, days move slowly, whilst crappy, eh?
