That's amazing, I guess anybody getting off the boat, has to get on the platform at the top of the ramp beforehand, and coming on would wait on the platform until it was done.

BigV 08-27-2015 11:16 PM

that's probably the same structure that operates the simulators for airplane cockpits, or disneyland rides

plthijinx 08-29-2015 05:45 PM

airplanes? you mentioned airplanes? here's decent from FL220 to RNAV (gps) instrument approach into Addison (Dallas) ding you hear in this short vid is the altitude preselect indicating 1000 feet to go in our decent to our level off altitude prior to commencing the approach. the jet is a citation CE-550 and yeah, it's a jet but it's avionics are a hunk of junk, I've flown beater trainer aircraft with a better radio/nav stack lol!

plthijinx 08-29-2015 05:55 PM

Clodfobble 08-29-2015 07:07 PM

DanaC 09-02-2015 10:44 AM

Gravdigr 09-02-2015 01:48 PM

Good to hear/read from ya, ya Philthy thang you!!

ETA: Don't you know, when videoing from a plane w/your phone, your supposed to turn the plane sideways?

plthijinx 09-02-2015 04:07 PM

had the owner of the plane on board, he doesn't think that's too much fun lol! but you mean like this??

BigV 09-02-2015 09:46 PM

cool!

xoxoxoBruce 09-02-2015 11:31 PM

I just saw a video of a machine with a long jointed arm that has a box with a wood chipper on the end, that chews up small trees from the top down. The guy said he took the video by holding his phone against the windshield with his boot. I wonder what the plane owner would think of that method? :haha:

plthijinx 09-03-2015 11:32 PM

Here's takeoff from that small field, runway is just over 3800' in length so it was 95% power and hold the brakes til the engines were spooled up, talk about a kick in the butt! The thick white lines, fyi, on either side of the runway center line indicate 500' of runway remaining.....(the rote learning of info in the manual for this plane is going to be way harder on the type rating test than flying the damn thing!)

Big Sarge 09-04-2015 02:48 AM

Plithy, it is great to hear from you!! You have been greatly missed.

I was sent a link to this video by another guy in group. It has me crying my eyes out. Might not affect y'all, but it sure does have me blubbering.

plthijinx 09-04-2015 04:30 PM

thanks sarge, and wow, that's powerful, pretty much at a loss for words really.

xoxoxoBruce 09-04-2015 11:37 PM

Magical. At least I think I know how he does it, but can't imagine putting in the hours to be able to do it.
