Her office first. Did chair rail late last night, assembled the desk today.
The saw table bit me when I took it down. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9cb9952c07.jpg That'll be a conversation starter tomorrow at work. ~note the blurry judgemental cock in the background. |
You have passed the test and must leave the temple now, Grasshopper.

Nothing compared to the aches and pains no one can see. ;)

Fought a table-saw without losing a digit. Win

Hey, any of you Pennsylvaniacs live in/near Upper Darby?
|
Not so far from here. 20 minutes maybe. You coming up?
|
Nah, just a found dog in that area with a collar but no chip. Just felt like doing what little I could to help get him home--I've been sort of fixated recently on the notion of doing small nice things because the big shit is just too big. Anyway, here's the dog, in case you know anyone in the neighborhood with a Yorkie:

The Morris in Philly is the oldest shelter in the country, good people.
But I don't know anybody in UD anymore. |
|
I'm getting frustrated. I am trying to locate the studs in the office to finish the chair rail, but as soon as I even touch the stud finder, it starts beeping. Stud found! Is it me?
|
Cmon people...

Start in a corner where you Know there is a stud ( Not you big boy ) ,
measure 16 inches drive in a finish nail below where the chair rail is going to be , find wood ( Again NOT you big boy ) measure 16 inches , rince and repete |
There's lumberthing I want to tell you
If the house was built according to today's standards.
|
and it's not. back then they used 8/4 and 24' spacing for studs.
the stud finder is working, I was just being cute. |
You have an office?

Amanda does. She works from home. It's a 5 bedroom house, but 2 were tiny, so we made one bedroom into her office, one into a laundry room. There's one big guest room on the 2nd floor with the treadmill that will double as 'the gym' and another on the 3rd.
Maybe once I clean this mess up I'll do one of those tour posts we used to do. |
I would enjoy that very much.
|
Me too.

Nice! I'll admit I wasn't convinced when you described the paint job, but that is one nice-looking cock.
|
Sitting on my front porch this morning, a car pulls up and am older lady comes up my driveway. She loves the rooster, where did I get it? Love it love it love it.
That's the second old lady this week that expressed interest in my huge cock. |
Ratios get pretty good for old survivor cock.
|
For an old working survivor cock. :o

Now there's Lumberthing I want to tell you.
This morning I got some junk mail from The Bradford Exchange with my issue of Car & Driver that I thought might interest you, if you don't already have it/them: Attachment 68828 Nice looking set. (Yeah, that's what I told her.) All 32 teams available, btw. Linkiedink |
Seems to me if you have to buy that in four installments you really shouldn't be buying it.
|
pretty. but eagle fans would drop them.

A cock with a dickhead.
That used to be a normal finding. |
*snort*
|
Still not ready to give you a proper tour.... But! I did fix the doorbell!
|
I like it. Well done.
|
they get $100 and up for new/antique ones like that. Ours was inoperative and tarnished, but I took it apart, replaced a washer where someone had used a twist tie trying to fix it, re-seated a gear that was stripped, and lubricated it.
I used the same stuff I cleaned up the chrome on the harley with to polish that bell. Shiny! Then took the paint off the outside collar and knob with a wire brush attachment on the drill. No polish outside, I like it better looking a bit weathered. |
Nice!
|
Pretty and it works. Can we hear it on the inside please?
|
If you watch to the end you hear it
|
Excellent!

I told myself a joke in a dream last night.
We hired a new lady named Helen Waite. I introduced myself and asked if she was going to be the complaints manager. She didn't get it, so I said, when people have a complaint, they go to Helen Waite. Still didn't get it. Hell... And... Wait. She shoved me. |
Been working on concealing the supply and drain pipes from the washing machine relocation.
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3b130d81ba.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e635ee51b9.jpg Had to allow for the molding. Used this thing : https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7d1ad54e47.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b602d7da5d.jpg Now I'm pondering putting shelves into the columns. Either the inside or face..... Or maybe just trim it out with molding and make the shelves inside the boxed in columns afterwards. I'm going to mount a row of coat hooks on the wall and put a bench between the low boxes with shoe cubbies or drawers or under it. There will be a sophet across the top, and shelves hung from that. The ceiling is 9'. The sophet will be 12", so maybe 18" below the bottom will look good and be useful. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3840b45183.jpg |
i like that , guuud jobz !!
