He learned that he can't trust those assholes he's hanging out with. That's a valuable lesson right there, and he learned it at a young age.

I'm guessing those assholes are blood relatives. That kid needs to move far far away.

True, but at least he knows that next time one of them wants him to put on a blindfold or make some other act of trust, that he should not fall for it.

Hopefully he doesn't learn that it's something he can do to the next young kid that comes along.
