Something having to do with the retina "floating" to the top (the back when looking downward) and remaining in place during the healing process. Better than being blind, but a major pain in the neck (figuratively and literally). Please report on eye doctor visit.

but but but, he had a detached retina

And, presumably, an intact one?

Maybe you could just rip that retina off with a pair of pliers and superglue an old viewfinder lens on to the eyeball. No? Well then get your ass to the doctor's. :eyebrow:

Back from the eye doc. just a bunch of astigmatism in my left eye. He was surprised that I don't have any farsightedness as is common in people of my anecdotage. He did recommend bifocals, since I could "crisp up" (my words) a bit. I think the reading addition is about 1x. The left eye was pretty wacked out.

The visit plus the specs put a small dent in the construction budget, not so small that a luna moth wouldn't notice...

He also said that I should have my cholesterol checked. People with high cholesterol have a ring of fat around their cornea, though not all people with a ring around their corneas have high cholesterol.

So, another trip to another doc.

And of course, I am going to take advantage of our country's marvelous healthcare plan. Ohh whoa. I thought I was in Canada. I meant to say I am self insured.

Still, what I've spent on doctors and meds in the past 20 years wouldn't add up to three months of health insurance premiums.

That's good news. Well, make that coulda been worser news. Be careful on that scaffold. ;)

footfootfoot 05-23-2006 09:25 PM

I send my twin brother up on those two scaffolds... ;)

Clodfobble 05-23-2006 09:47 PM

Yay! I'm really glad it wasn't anything awful, foot.

footfootfoot 05-23-2006 09:53 PM
