yeah, that tuna sandwich diet is scurvylicious!

What's wrong with at least having tuna in a salad without a whole heap of oily dressing? The salad would have far less calories than two slices of bread, and it'd be a shitload better for you.

yeah, our gym has been totally crowded.....it's my first year attending, so i wonder how long it takes for it to thin out again after the new year swell.

I know exactly what you mean, LJ. 2 weeks ago, we were the only ones coming into the dojang. Now, its packed. People, fall off the wagon, already.

The gym I go to was unusually empty today. I wonder if somebody warned them?

I've heard that there's another huge membership boost for gyms right when the Olympics are going on.

In my experience gyms start to return to normal by mid-Late February.

It takes about a month and a half then they start dropping like flies. Every year it's the same thing. Good for those trying to make the change but what a PITA at the gym when you can't get into spin class because some overeating, overdrinking, oversmoking blob decided to make a change while drunk on new year's eve

I've avoided the gym on Mondays for a while now because of the same thing on a smaller scale. Every day is Monday right now.... except for Friday. I had the warm pool to myself last Friday.

My resolution is summed up by the phrase "carpe diem".
Living well and engaging in the humanities.

Sundae 01-18-2008 09:01 AM

I was disaccommodated by the Resolution Wannabes last weekend. Grrrrrrr.
The gym has a disproportionately small warm up/ cool down/ floor exercise area - it can be a real bottleneck even though there are enough machines in the CV and weights areas. Grrrrrrr. Roll on mid-Feb when it begins to quieten down again.

Yeah, hello? There's like 150 exercycles, but only room for maybe five people on the yoga mat. What, nobody stretches? That's at the big chain gym, the gym at my work is even worse. There isn't anywhere to stretch, you have to stake out a spot on the floor, and people have to step around you.
