Hmmm. English muffins have 'nooks and crannies' -- what do Irish muffins have? :yum:

In fact, I don't recall any. I wonder why? They speak English there, don't they? Are there any Cellardwellars from Ireland?

They're at work or in the pub. You won't hear from them until they hook up computers with internet access in all the pubs. ;)

UG, do you have me on ignore?
(Yes, I know, asking that question doesn't make sense, but ...) I've been back in Australia for a year now.

We did have a kiwi here for a while, El Bandito I think he was, but we made him go to the doctor when he described recurring symptoms that were very likely a heart attack. I'm a little concerned that he has never been back. I hope he is okay.

I've got plenty of Irish ancestry, and good servings of German, Scottish and English, which is pretty much the classic pre-1950 Australian mix.

no, she's russian.

I'm irish though...on both sides.

I think the reason you don't see them is because the Irish are too fucking cheap or poor to buy computers.

Why, because they're not Mexicans?

because there are so few of them; I'm happy to see them.

Nope. Just never saw you spun into any threads I was reading, hardly. Lost track, more like. Note the date of posting.

Yep, that describes my family tree pretty much too...except we don't have any German in us that I know of. Just lots of Irish, English and scottish with a dabbling of Welsh for good measure.

:)

The Americans see it differently, bless 'em.
I'm beginning to understand it now. If someone with an American accent tells you they are half Scottish and half Norwegian, just smile and tell them it's interesting. They'll never have been to either country and likely even their grandparents haven't. And if they do, they'll complain about the shower pressure, the size of the cars and the price of the food anyway ;)

(All said with love, you understand)

Trilby 02-19-2009 07:11 AM

so...I'm Native American? ;)

Don't let the stereotype get you down, muffin. We're just playin'. Glad you like it here----we're really not so bad. (well, yes we are, but I'm trying to put a good spin on it)

Anyway---what kind of no good student are you? what year? what major?

Pie 02-19-2009 07:27 AM

Huh. Indians (in India) are always really happy to claim me as one of their own. And get a little pissed off at me when I tell them I'm not Indian, I'm an American.

YMMV.
