They lobsters DO actually scream in a sense. Not through vocal chords but by rubbing their antennea around in their sockets vigorously. I was int he Florida Keys last summer during lobster season and thus we decided not pass up the opportunity to catch some lobster for ourselves. But for these kind sof lobster, you have to rip the tail off when they are still alive and remove their intestines by way of their lobster-butthole w/ one of their antennea (ironically the best tool for doing so is part of the lobster :P).
But yes they do scream and it gets freakin annoying after awhile. And you have to put em in a box after you rip the tails off so that they don't start crawling around all over the place tripping you and stuff. (I was on an island so no box me for :P)

Ok, thanks. I grew up hearing that you weren't supposed to eat the dead crawfish, or the ones whose tails weren't curled, and always wondered exactly why.
