They glow in the dark and appear to move.

I must have it but I won't really buy it.

Huh. I really like that! The price isnt too bad, even.

skysidhe 02-07-2010 08:01 PM

yeah,

I wonder if it REALLY appears to move like it says?

The lighted base is probably the key it seems. That's an extra charge of course.

I like that they look like jellyfish, Its OK if they don't move.

So far, still lusting after the KindleDX, not sure how much of a real improvement over the current Kindle1 it would be, I mean it is pretty much just for reading books which I'm doing absolutely fine on the Kindle1 ... Maybe if they drop the price point, though.

That one's a Yamaha, but I'm not particular about brands as long as they have what I need. I'm after effects on my next board. The one I use now has a shitty reverb (more like a sophisticated, too many knobs echo effect). Sounds pretty good but I like the old spring type reverb. I also love pan, flange and chorus. My current board also wants to clip my amp at times on high freqs. Juju's vocals clip fairly frequently unless I down the volume some. I'm just going to get a new one like I REALLY like and use the old one on my monster stereo.;)

Elspode 02-08-2010 08:34 AM

Isn't clipping usually a function of amp power, rather than anything in the board?

What sort of music are you two doing? Got any samples? :D

Clodfobble 02-08-2010 01:37 PM

Oh I've heard it Els, it goes like this: bow-chicka-bow-wow...

busterb 02-08-2010 04:56 PM

A new puppy, tomorrow.

classicman 02-08-2010 04:58 PM

Excellent! What did you decide on?

Yes. But if I had more control on the board the vocals wouldn't overdrive the amp to the clip point. I can sing full throttle and never clip. Juju has a superlative soprano voice and she clips regularly... of course I man the board and rectify. We're working on duets and I don't have the time to be fucking with the board. The board I'm running only has two mic channels with a shared EQ. So the only way to avoid the clip is via volume, which fucks with harmonics in a duet situation. With separate EQ controls I could level out at full power on both mics. Hope I'm making sense.

I do classic rock/country and she does the same, but she really excels in spiritual/blues music. We are currently working on a vid to post here. Coming soon.... I promise.

I really need to invest in a compression unit (among other juicy joys of equipment) but we have so many other things going on right now we're kind of having to make do at present. Getting a new house and my goddam denture issue as well. I see a bright future in our music careers. These things take time and practice practice practice....money money money... patience patience pat...well you know the drill.;)

True, true, true....but we will master EVERYTHING together as a team! That is as long as I behave! :p (private joke.)

xoxoxoBruce 02-10-2010 11:23 PM

I think you'll be a team as long as you misbehave. ;)

capnhowdy 02-11-2010 06:03 AM

Yep. Good behavior can get mundane at times.
