Having read only the first few responses, I felt compelled to reply.

I think he has already pretty much f*cked up his career. What he did was probably a felony and not many law firms are going to be receptive to that. I work for one, so I should know.

Personally, I think he is self-destructive and it would be better for you to just write him off before you get dragged down with him. Just my two cents.
