Yeah, you might be suffering from a little post nasal drip - yellow means the body is fighting an infection.

I bet you are glad that is all over with! I hope you are feeling chipper in no time mpt!

(Aargh - the chaplain was a dick! There is no excuse for what he did - you were trapped by your circumstances and good manners!)

Big Sarge 05-20-2011 01:09 PM

Get well soon. I'm glad you still have your sense of humor.

Almost forgot, you know you are going to hell for being mean to the chaplain don't you! Now you are in the same boat as the rest of the heathens on here. ;)

tie the string of an "it's a girl balloon" round the ankle of the chaplain and tie the other end to the bedpost and have fun watching him get left behind at the rapture!

Dazza and one of my cousins have had almost exactly the same issues as you've had with your thyroid mtp. They're both fine now. They called Dazza's Hashimodo's disease. Anyway, I'm glad you've come through well, and you might find your weight issues will improve once they get your meds right. Malfunctioning thyroids can contribute to weight gain (if someone hasn't already told you this I'd be surprised).

I had Hashimotos thyroiditis too, but they took the thyroid out because of the suspicious nodule that did end up being cancer. Hashimotos usually does lead to hypothyroidism but mine was caught before that. I would love to blame it for my weight issues but I think that would not be the root of the issue. I will still have to work to lose the weight, even if one of the contributing factors has been fixed. My endocrinologist is the same as my mother's though, he's done an excellent job helping her so I'm sure he will do the same for me.

Yeah, pretty much the same as Dazza and my cousin Jules. They both had malignant nodes that had to be removed.

It's amazing how lucky we are to live in the time we do and not even 20 yrs ago.

How are you feeling today, MTP?

morethanpretty 05-21-2011 10:08 PM

I think my hormones are a little out of whack, but nonetheless my dad is the one who owes me an apology.

Oh, and I have a little bit of a fever.

morethanpretty 05-27-2011 04:31 PM

Bleh, Doc says I will feel this worn out/fatigued for a couple of weeks until my body adjusts to the change in hormones or something. :(

I mentioned in another thread that Tennant's Mum had cancer of the thyroid.
She is going back into hospital for a week from 8th July.

I was dealing with another child when she came into the classroom, but from what I heard she has to have radiation therapy. She could come home, but has elected to stay in an isolation ward because of Tennant - it could put him in danger. I'm guessing she is not supposed to have close contact with him, and feels it would be difficult if she was at home. She intends to stay in contact via Skype. Believe me - I will be avaailable for hugs that week.

I can't really tell her how much I worry and care, because I rarely see her and I just work with her son.
But you're mine MTP. And I can.
Keep us up to date. We love you.

Mtp I know a young lady who was a big girl, always beautiful and confident but had weight issues. Once they sorted out her thyroid issue she started losing weight. She feels better physically. She didn't have her thyroid rremoved, though. Anyway, I'm thinking of you too and hope you feel better and better as you heal.

'Chin up' seems a jokely statement, but I bet you haven't lost your sense of humor. :)

Take good care of yourself.

Yeah, there goes all of my awesome hostage victim, assassin mistaken identity, Russian mob bet stories that I made up to tell my grandkids. How will they believe me if there is no scar? :(
