We hit quite a low recently, hence why I have not been posting much. Since Oct last year we have had my hubby off work for 6 months for knee surgery, our fridge needed to be replaced in Jan, our truck broke down and cost over $1600 to fix in march, our one boxer passed away in April, I got hurt at work and was off for 4 months. Then just when we think things could not get worse, my hubby got a "not impaired, but halfway to it" fine. The cop that pulled him over for a tail light, even said it was breath alcohol not blood alcohol that did him in. meaning the 2 beer he had were still on his breath... either way the truck was impounded for 30 days, he got a $500 fine and his licence yanked for 90 days.Going to cost us about $1500 when its all said and done. No charges, no points... just a huge pain in the ass for 2 drinks. On the up side, hubby said he's learned his lesson and will not even have 1 and drive now.

We live out of town, and work is a 1 hour 50min walk! While it is do-able it is a serious pain in the ass at 1am. So we sank all our $$$ (umm what money??) into another electric scooter for hubby, and the 2 battery pack set for his and mine. The scooters get us around quite well, and go aprox 32-40km/hr.

I changed jobs, because once I came back from being hurt, I was put on all nights and weekends. No day shifts at all, even though I was hired for all days 5 years ago. I started working in a retail store, and decided to celebrate changing jobs. After all the stress lately, a night together with a whole 6 drinks between us was going to be a nice treat. We went to get a 6pack from the closest liquor store from me, and there was a guy buying cigars. He asked why I was so happy, so I told him I had just left my old job and started another one. He asked what I did before, so I told him. He offered me a job. I laughed at him and said he could not pay me enough to do nights. I was not rude, but was not all that nice. I was not aware I was talking to the owner of the store! When he left, the guy behind trhe counter told me who I was talking to. I went out and appologized to him. I said I was a bit of a bitch, and he said... thats good I want a bit of a bitch running my beer store. I took a resume in, had an interview that day, and was hired 2 hours later. Its an $700 increase in our money a month, and I get a free staff meal daily. (that is worth $200-300/month right there!)

So finally thngs are looking up again. It will take me several months to get back on track finacially... but at least now we will not be hemoraging $$ any more. Hubby's work should be picking up next month too, and he will have more shifts as well.

Our new boxer is fitting in quite well! In fact, she is great. She still has issues when we all leave, but other than that she is a good girl. She is a big cuddle bug, and sleeps with me every night. She has attitude, and will bark at you if you tell her no. She still flinches a bit when we say ouch or reach for her too fast... but not as bad as she used to. That hopefully will go away with time. She was badly abused before she came here. Eventually she will realize that that will never happen here, in her forever home. Our other boxer, Loki is loving having her here, and to watch the 2 of them play puts a smile on my face every time!

There you have it... you asked. Hahahha

Wow, put a nickel in, get a dollar's worth. *thank you* for the update, I love a good story especially when it comes with a happy ending (not like that you weirdos). I am happy to hear all the good news, and let me give you a testimonial about your nervous dog.

I have the most nervous dog in the world, Andy. He's so skittish he won't even come inside. He's afraid. Well, years of training have finally produced a sense of confidence in him to the point that he'll come in. Not just come in, but wipe his feet, sit, stay then dance for a cookie. I should make another video to go with is first one. Regardless, keep at it, she'll come around. congratulations~!

I've just all three books and look, I enjoyed it.

It kept me reading in a Pretty Women type way...not Twilightish.

Great read? No. Best written book ever? No. But I've read a lot worse and I think Jilly Cooper's "Polo" series was a lot better.

For a jaded, non believer like me...it was nice to read about someone very damaged finding their happily ever after with some kinky fuckery thrown in :)

I think there's a lot of pressure for people NOT to like it, and with all the hype (good and bad)....it was like that huge blockbuster movie that you want to be some awesome it blows your mind....but just doesnt get there.

I will put my hand up and say it was an easy, uncomplicated read and I enjoyed it.

I'd do Christian Grey :)

Bet you were holding the book with one hand while you were reading. ;)

Aliantha 08-13-2012 12:42 AM

I think ducky probably had the book propped up on the bedside table...

Sundae 08-13-2012 05:59 AM

I was thinking propped up in the bathroom as she cleaned her teeth (electric toothbrush)

DucksNuts 08-14-2012 04:47 AM

Sundae knows me so well. Im all about oral hygiene :)

Aliantha 08-14-2012 09:50 PM

Speaking of oral, there's some idiot researcher who has a theory that if a woman SUFFERING FROM MORNING SICKNESS has oral sex and swallows, it will cure her sickness.

I don't know about any other women, but giving oral sex in the throes of morning sickness would not have been a wise move unless my husband had a penchant for being vomitted on...which he does not. lol

Aliantha 08-14-2012 09:51 PM

I did see a couple on Jerry Springer once who liked to vomit on each other though...so it does happen.

Probably not over night though.

DucksNuts 08-14-2012 10:02 PM

I'll have to consult urban dictionary and see what thats called.....
