See, I knew you aren't as dumb as you look in a cheese hat.:D

blue 06-12-2004 06:20 PM

The really sad thing is that I don't own a cheesehat, I have a kickass Packer apron, get a decorated Packer tree every year, am on the waiting list, have all sorts of cool stuff...foam fingers, cowbells, ticket stubs...but no cheesehat.

Actually, I'm a diehard fan, a HUGE fan, just not an idiot.

lumberjim 06-12-2004 06:22 PM

what, are you 'cheese hat profiling'?

At least they originated the idea. the idiots here in philly can't decide wether to go with cheesesteak hats or soft pretzel hats.

xoxoxoBruce 06-12-2004 06:25 PM

I vote for Liberty Bell Hats. They would ring out for freedom, when they punch each other.

No, no, no!! Don't associate cheeseheads with us. We invented the Lambeau Leap! Think those happy thoughts instead.

We drink beer like fish, pretty sure we invented tailgating and if not we perfected it, we are the only fans who own the team, we go to Lambeau in February to party when they lose, we ride bikes to the stadium with the players, we kill the coach's dog (myth) if they have a losing season.

The cheese thing is just fucking stupid.

I don't really agree with and am not too fond of Reagan's political ideas and how he treated a lot of global issues, but there is one thing that did hit me about his death: he was, in neither a good or bad way, a part of my childhood. The man that made so many speeches to the public via the television and radio is now gone. good or bad, in agreement or not, he was very much present in all of our lives.

Another element of years passed is now gone. That, to me, hit harder than anything he stood for. (Honestly, I was too young to feel any effect, or even understand, what the man affected as President.)

Now THERE'S a name I have been missing. What happened to him anyway? Last I checked, he moved suddenly without leaving a forwarding address or phone number.

I also remember him having a huge dodad in his "dining room" in the form of a full dentists' chair and lamp with pedestal, but no tools. That I knew of. Still had his toy gun collection on the wall too. And piles of Apple computers lying about.

Sometimes I miss the good old days!

From the cathedral on the hill, in the sacrament of light...
ode to Ronald Reagan, fill our minds and make them right.

From shining sea to next, across our great, great land...
remind us of our blessing, and hold him oh so grand.

Enshrine this child of the light, a worthy man to all...
an American man of the ages, who did not stumble or fall.

We toll the bell, 40 times, for thee on bended knee...
rent from us this sorrow, and let us now be free.

In twilight's last gleaming, upon this very eve...
receive him through the parting gates, and help us cease to grieve.

Rest now, be at peace. You've done so much more than you'll ever know.

wow.. this really got off topic... I've been waiting for the mud to surface around reagan.. I disliked his policies and for the most part I (loathingly) have to agree with Radar... although his timing could have been a little better.. I'm hunting down the list or reagan blunders and horrid policy*, I'll post it when I get it down well enough (and from reliable sources)..

I mean I didn't like reagan and I didn't like bush 1 but g dub.. he's the worst of the lot... and that's a sad thing when the repulbican party and the democratic party have switched places.. yeah I'm hunting that down too.. the downside being that I have run out of time right now.. but I'll get it up here tomorrow (tuesday) or the next day..

* I had a friend die of aids during the reagan seconds term... had terry known the disease existed and to what extent.. he would have been much more carefull (me? I was unpopular at the time.. and didn't really have to worry about it.. not that that much has changed :D and i've always been carefull, being a 'whoops baby' myself ..oops I mean uh... 'love child' )

If a person whom you otherwise thought to be intelligent indicated respect and admiration for Reagan, would you immediately adjust your opinoin to consider that person to be "about as bright as a 2 watt bulb?" If so, then you demonstrate where your intellect truly stands. If not, then you contradict yourself pretty blatantly.

Either way, get over yourself. A man who tries to flaunt his "intellect" and "IQ" comes across like the man who brags about the size of his dick, but always uses the stalls in public restrooms... it's all just an insecurity-spawned sham. You're not a moron, but nor are you superior. As far as observation can determine, your conceit is misplaced.

Incidentally, I am not at issue with your points, only your presentation.
