And really dumb.

elSicomoro 08-02-2005 01:11 PM

Mari, I want you to promise me that you're not gonna disappear or storm off this time around, okay? Because I get a real kick out of watching Tony get all annoyed with you. :)

Undertoad 08-02-2005 01:17 PM

But don't get so annoying that you get banned. Just annoying enough to annoy me, and give Syc masturbation fodder.

elSicomoro 08-02-2005 01:18 PM

Oh yeah baby! Oh! I'm so turned on! Oh! Oh! Oh!

What? You don't like Toby Keith? I just paraphrased his song "Should OF been a cowboy" slightly:

Should of been a cowboy!
Should of learned to rope and ride,
wearing my six shooter,
taking my pony on a cattle drive...

Should of had a side kick with a funny name
riding wild through the hills
chasing Jessie James,
ending up on the brink of danger
riding shot gun for the Texas Rangers

Oh, I should of been a cowboy!

He DOES get annoyed with me, doesn't he? I don't think he likes to be sassed back at. :p

Undertoad 08-02-2005 04:07 PM

You mean Toby Keith's "Should've Been a Cowboy".

elSicomoro 08-02-2005 04:14 PM

Call me crazy, but I could have sworn that she said she paraphrased it...

And that was noble of you to remove the sentence where you called her a moron, Tony. It's a baby step, but I'm real proud of ya, man!

Undertoad 08-02-2005 04:21 PM

Yes, she paraphrased the "cowboy" into a "cowgirl", but insisted in her post that the title included "OF".

I removed the "moron" because it was redundant.

elSicomoro 08-02-2005 04:26 PM

You apparently need to smoke more weed...or maybe you just need a big hug. Can't help you with either, but I wish you well. And when you're ready to repent, the COTWP is here for you.

Directly from Toby's own website:

"Should've Been A Cowboy
Toby Keith
Live Recording

The fans love these songs. They're standard party songs I've played for a decade or so, and the fans sing along every night. So as a bonus for them we rolled tape for a few nights and put these on the album so they could hear themselves sing....."

Note: SHOULD'VE = contraction of SHOULD HAVE. Case closed. Next?

Gosh, this has got to be the most trivial cellar argument, yet! Yeah, the official title is "Shoud've been a cowboy," but if you listen to Toby sing the lyrics he ennunciates quite clearly "Oh, I should OF been a cowboy." The way the music is written, you can't slur "should've" and make it come out right. You have to sing "should OF." I've only listened to the damn song about 14 million times. The song starts out:

I'll bet you've never heard ole Marshall Dillon say
Miss Kitty have you ever thought of running away
Settling down, would you marry me
If I asked you twice and begged you pretty please
She'd have said "yes" in a New York minute
They never tied the knot
His heart wasn't in it
He just stole a kiss as he rode away
He never hung his hat up at Kitty's place

Then Toby really belts out the line for emphasis:

SHOULD OF BEEN A COWBOY!

You don't listen to much country-western, do you, UT? :D

Queen of the Ryche 08-02-2005 04:41 PM

Should of is improper grammar. Should have is not. That's all.

elSicomoro 08-02-2005 04:43 PM

Yeah, and we're big sticklers on that and spelling here. You see that Zip is still here, right? :)
