This is a '79 AMF Harley that a friend in FL is looking to buy.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f0050a11dc.jpg

What, does he own oil company stock, or something?

Those engines were built like sieves.

He decided not to buy it after thinking of one he had when younger. He said he worked on it more than he rode it.

Gravdigr 10-02-2018 02:58 PM

It might be nice as a curiosity, but not as a main scoot.

Here is a new to me 05 Road King $5500, 14k miles. Those mag wheels cost about 1700 each.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a919551808.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9b81361aa9.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ac12284f3d.jpg

Nope the dope adjusted the OEM bars like that. He didn't care for the windshield as he only tooled around town and didn't get on the open road. Changing the bars on a Harley is a pia, because of internal wiring. The clutch cable and brake lines are in the wind, but have to hide the electrics.

Gravdigr 10-05-2018 02:00 PM

Cool.

I thought they looked a little tall.

Griff 10-06-2018 08:39 AM

Sweet! What are your plans for her?

captainhook455 10-06-2018 08:32 PM

First I will put a Burly clutch kit which fits on the clutch spring. Idk why it is called a kit as it is one piece of steel. I have had a few bikes and Harley is the only one to need a gorilla grip to pull the clutch.

The seat is a Drag Specialities which fits my butt Ok, but my wife nixed it because the passenger seat is 5" wide. I will see what Mustang has to offer.

I would like some saddlebag crash bars. I saw some on Fukbook last month, but I didn't have a King then.

The windshield is there, but brown. I have a spare recurve shield for the Heritage I will see if it fits.

Last, but not least is the jiffy stand. Some think it is cool for a bike to lean way over when parked. Too bad it is chrome too. Well I don't have legs like Popeye cuz a Harley is a heavy bitch.

Thats all I have to do until I do something else. At least a bike is not like owning a boat.

Not really. I paid 5500 for this harley in 18 and 6000 for a used Grady White in 87. The bike is used frequently while the boat once a week. The bike has no slip fees, no green heads stuck in the bilge pump plus I don't have to wait for low tide to wash the bike.

Check out this nifty thing! Qooder

https://www.motofichas.com/images/ar...ion-accion.jpg http://www.qooder.com/wp-content/upl...oder-img-1.jpg

QUADRO4 is the first compact S.U.V. (Safe Utility Vehicle) in the world, with four tilting wheels and two-wheel drive, targeted toward modern users looking for a unique and superior level of safety, comfort and fun on all road and weather conditions. Only $13,000 (free shipping).

captainhook455 10-08-2018 09:28 PM

How many cc does it have? I would rather have that than a trike.

Glinda 10-08-2018 10:27 PM

Looks like 350cc tp 400cc, depending.

Gravdigr 10-09-2018 03:25 PM

No thanks, too much to go wrong.

Cool looking though.

xoxoxoBruce 10-29-2018 02:41 PM

One correction, that's Francis' FLSTC Softail Classic labeled as Benedict's FXDC Dyna Super Glide. The price is right though, the softail only brought $52,000.

It's a technique he developed riding for Indian in the 1920's. On high speed straight runs balance isn't a big problem, wind resistance and keeping it straight is the focus.
After Indian scaled back, Harley said they would sponsor him but then reneged, which pissed him off. He talked the bikes owner(son of Vincent) to loan him that bike to break Harley's streamliner speed record of eleven years.
Taking off his leathers gained him one more mph.

Now you can go Tronish...

Vincent Black Lightning 1952

Not the performance I was looking for, but, it'll do.

"I see angels on Ariels
In leather and chrome
Swooping from Heaven

fargon 11-04-2018 01:10 PM

Is this the version you were looking for?

Gravdigr 11-05-2018 03:54 PM

Aware of Thompson's, but, I was looking for a different performance by The Del McCoury Band. It's a big tune for them.

Thanks, though!
