Homemade alcoholic fruit punch:
Take two apples, one pear, three bananas, a kiwi fruit, some orange juice and several large measures of vodka, get busy with the juicer and hey presto! instant drunk!

bluecuracao 04-09-2007 07:53 PM

I'm drinking coke from McDonalds right now, but when I get home, I'm gonna have a go at a nice chardy, then I might make a cocktail, and I might even finish off with a shot or two of Absynth. I've never actually tried it, mainly because you can rarely find it here because of the alcohol content, but I saw some in the bottle shop the other day, so decided I'd give it a go.

Aliantha 04-27-2007 11:59 PM

BTW, I intend to be pretty shit faced by the time I go to bed. I might even make an appearance here at some stage. That should be fun for you all I'm sure.

Elspode 04-27-2007 11:59 PM

Berghoff Famous Bock Beer

Flint 05-21-2007 10:08 PM

I've taken to drinking straight (60 proof) vanilla rum, over ice.

SteveDallas 05-21-2007 10:19 PM

Absolutely nothing, but within 15 minutes I'll have a martini in my hand.

cklabyrinth 05-21-2007 10:26 PM

When I drink, it's normally Rolling Rock or Heineken. Pretty much anything that comes in a green bottle, I guess. :D

Flint 05-21-2007 10:46 PM

Edison Light Beer: "Kiss your corporate light beer goodbye. Smoother, easy-drinking Edison brings new energy to light. Learn more at edisonbeer.com Cheers!" [punctuation as original]

The beer comes from the same place my family has lived in for many generations -- Hingham MA. Sundry generations of my people are buried in its churchyard.

Or does it? One source on Googling says it's Hingham; the Edison Independent Light Beer website says company headquarters is in Randolph MA. The brewery that makes the brand is located in Utica NY -- an outfit called Matt Brewing Company, picked for its combination of quality and proximity to Eastern markets.

The beer is indeed smooth, but frankly it's too light -- I go for more body. Its lightness may serve well on a hot and humid summer day, though -- which would be Hingham at its hottest, and points south.

For a thoroughly local feast then, hit the Hingham Lobster Pound for a couple pounds of fried clams a head (go there hungry) and a couple of Edisons for go-with.

I should tell Mom and Dad about this stuff. They're from that neighborhood.

Trilby 05-26-2007 03:24 PM

Iced tea and Iced coffee--not together, though. I alternate them. By 9pm, I'm all wired up-- but I love the stuff.

busterb 05-26-2007 03:37 PM

pop, with foam on top

wolf 05-26-2007 03:39 PM

Water. It's freakin' hot. I'm waiting for the A/C to start actually cooling things down. Oh the misery. How long until winter?

lizzymahoney 05-26-2007 04:37 PM

Mmmm, iced tea. It's What's For Supper?!

bluecuracao 05-26-2007 07:04 PM

H2Odwalla, blueberry flavor.

Undertoad 05-26-2007 07:24 PM

Our "house wine", the Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay.

bluecuracao 06-01-2007 10:02 PM

A tequila and red juice concoction, in a leftover Halloween goblet with a spider on it. Not my idea, but it's tasty.

lumberjim 06-01-2007 10:26 PM

bluecuracao 06-01-2007 10:30 PM

edit: ps. we had to beat it out of her, too.

lizzymahoney 06-02-2007 07:55 AM

Chai. A little too milky, but good. I let it cool before drinking, but love the smell of it.

Flint 06-12-2007 12:37 PM

That looks like a choking hazard.

Sundae 06-12-2007 12:46 PM

Icy cold Grolsh.
Well, the off licence has had a run on Stella since installing fridges without doors (it used to be in the corner and a devil to get to)

Oddly, the Perfectly Cold Indicator on the side of the can is not blue. So it is not perfectly cold. From this I discern that Grolsh is at the correct temperature when it is cold enough for the rim of the can to stick to your tongue.

wolf 06-12-2007 01:07 PM

Grolsch comes in cans?

Why drink it out of anything but the bottle with the ceramic cap?

I'm drinking coffee. It's my morning right now.

Flint 06-12-2007 01:09 PM

The ceramic caps are plastic now. But you can still get that "nose hit" when you pop it. The Skunkier, The Drunkier

wolf 06-12-2007 01:14 PM

Then my last reason to drink Grolsch is gone.

Very sad.

Flint 06-12-2007 01:16 PM

It still looks ceramic, the same way that plastic sushi looks like sushi.

Because cans are lighter to carry, easier to dispose of... and anyway they don't sell the bottles in my local off licence.

Yepa 06-16-2007 02:39 PM

Water. I'm considering getting myself a cup of tea.

lumberjim 06-16-2007 02:49 PM

hi, yepa. a/s/l?

elSicomoro 06-16-2007 05:41 PM

Diet Dr Pepper...haven't had one in forever. Don't drink much soda these days.
