Normal packs have eleven which is inconveniently prime and thus difficult to share. The double coated ones [drool] have nine, because they are extra thick. Are the pink ones extra thick too?

Put them in a "container"? That thing is usually called a "stomach" you know. ;)

No, there's no double coating or anything on the pink wish ones. They've just made the partitions between the slots where the biscuits go a bit wider.

I think they're trying to make up for the 10 cent donation. Either way, I feel ripped off, but I'll still buy them because they taste great, and it's for a good cause.

Do I look like the kind of girl who'd eat a whole packet of tim tams in one sitting? ;) lol

 Depends on how "saucy" I'm feeling. I go both ways.

Sundae 12-06-2007 05:07 PM

Pleased to hear the pink theme is global. When I worked at Asda (who are a sponsor) I bought all sorts of pink products to support Breast Cancer, including a lovely rose wine... I felt all warm inside after drinking it, like everyone was my best friend ;)

I just bought the branded pink toilet paper this year - the difference between working 60 hours a week and working none!

Cheap buggers. I'm sure they make more than 10 cents per pack, AND they'd get a tax deduction for the donation, AND they'd get extra sales from the publicity.

Some biscuits come in resealable (or at least closable) boxes. Tim Tams do not. There is a reason for this. :yum:

Aliantha 12-06-2007 11:25 PM

hehe...that's true. I have been known (and it's right here in this thread) to eat a whole pack in a sitting.

They really are the rolls royce of biscuits.

Urbane Guerrilla 12-07-2007 04:47 AM

That is a nice looking lemon tart, that is.

Who's got nipples that at least sometimes look like the blossom end of the lemon -- the bit with the protuberance? :yum: Like Hershey's Chocolate Kisses are good too. :yum:

Very... tart-ly.

Sundae 12-07-2007 04:49 AM

I bet Marge Simpson has!

Mine are pink rather than yellow, but now you mention it I can see the resemblance...

ZenGum 12-07-2007 10:27 AM

Due to the ring of tiny bumps around the main nipple, Dali sometimes referred to a woman's nipple as a "telephone".

BigV 12-07-2007 06:58 PM

I can't believe I just ate...

I was reading in the kitchen last night, and wanted a little something sweet before bedtime. I reached into the refrigerator, and found the quart carton (tall, thin, yellow) of eggnog. As I lifted it, I could tell it was nearly empty from how light it was. So I opened the cap, and chugged the last inch left in the carton.

Imagine my surprise when my efforts to save a clean glass were rewarded with a quarter cup of egg substitute. Raw and cold. Ew. It was about as gross as it sounds, nothing like Rocky at all. Urk.

Urbane Guerrilla 12-08-2007 05:15 AM

LOL, w/sympathy. At least it was high-protein. Egg-whites really need egg yolks, usually, to be at their best.

DucksNuts 12-11-2007 04:29 AM

A huge big bowl of Rice Bubbles with Milo on top.....breakfast ...err...at 9pm...of champions.

Aliantha 12-11-2007 04:06 PM

isn't nutrigrain the breakfast of champions?

Clodfobble 12-11-2007 06:34 PM

At various times in my life, a "breakfast of champions" has specifically referred to:

--A kit-kat and a Coke
--Powdered sugar donuts and a Sprite

I had to eat the menu in question on a very regular basis (and specifically for breakfast) before I ever considered it for champion status.

Aliantha 12-11-2007 06:39 PM

I can't imagine having softdrink (soda/pop) for breakfast.

Maybe a donut with a coffee? I don't think I'd call it the breakfast of champions though. lol

I suppose I think of a champion breakfast as something healthy which will give you energy. Of course, that means I don't think nutrigrain fits the bill either. ;)

I'd go for a good quality muselie(sp?) with some yoghurt and fruit on top. Now that's a breakfast of champions.

Oats are good too...specially when you pop to dried fruit in at the start of the cooking process so it plumps up nicely. yummo!

jinx 12-11-2007 08:14 PM

Wheaties is the breakfast of champions.

I can't eat breakfast, it ruins my whole day.

Well, sure, that was the original meaning of the cliche (maybe it's not a cliche in Australia? It was a Wheaties cereal slogan for years, as jinx noted.) But I make it a point to be ironic as often as possible, or insincere at the very least. :)

If it helps explain it any, it was only breakfast in that it was still morning and I had not eaten anything else. It wasn't like 7 AM in my pajamas or anything. The Coke/kitkats were while driving to school, and the donuts/Sprite were after I got to work at this particular employer who had really awesome powdered sugar donuts in the vending machine. They changed suppliers at some point, and that's when I stopped the habit.

Aliantha 12-11-2007 09:58 PM

yeah Clod, breakfast of champions is a slogan for nutrigrain over here, but I didn't know it was a slogan for a cereal over there although I suppose I should have guessed it must have been.

Urbane Guerrilla 12-12-2007 01:59 AM

Ah. Cultural differences.

Let's hear it for two slices of cold pizza, from the fridge, in last night's take-out pizza box. Accompanied however.

Here's a good looking Muesli recipe from Mister Breakfast's site. (Surf this site only if you want to awaken your appetite -- I rather avoid it unless I'm eating at the keyboard 'cos I think the place is calorically dangerous!) It seems homemade is the way to go with muesli, and it seems it should really include two particular ingredients to bring it to full potential: orange juice or concentrate in the soaking fluid, and either yoghurt or powdered milk to enrich. I picked that recipe of several on Mr. Breakfast because it had yoghurt and a banana in it. Muesli's pretty free-form. Adding powdered milk can do a lot for any muesli recipe.

Shawnee123 12-12-2007 02:56 PM

gotta love Belushi

No, no, no: This is the breakfast of champions:

We always referred to beer as The Breakfast of Champions.
Not a regular breakfast, but common if you were going over to Europe as the best time to catch the ferry was early in the morning, and the bar was always open. Also as a teenager, polishing off any cans left from the night before.

Soft drinks for breakfast are a Whore's Breakfast. Not quite sure why, but refers to their hangover reducing properties I think.

monster 12-16-2007 11:50 AM

I always have Diet Coke for breakfast. And elevensies. And lunch. and afternoon tea. and dinner. Often (but not always) at the same time as a huge cup of tea.

I HUGE plate of calamari and fresh fish...I love being near the ocean....although I feel sick now, but I think that has more to do with the belly full of salt I took in rescuing a too brave 4yr old

DN - You risked your life and jumped in the ocean to save a small child from a Great White shark! You are my hero. And to think that you almost died in the process.

Clodfobble 12-18-2007 03:30 PM

Wait, what? Ducks, please elaborate on this story!

DucksNuts 12-19-2007 05:38 AM

Ha, its not as awesome as it sounds......T man loves the ocean and the tide was coming in really fast, the waves over here in the Indian Ocean are a lot more aggressive than the other side of Australia and the little turd was too far out when the big waves started pounding in.

Of course he got bowled over by the first BIG wave that came in and couldnt get his feet back under him before the next one came along, I went in for the rescue, but a drop off took me by surprise.

Thread drift. Canned corn beef simmered with taters and onions over toast.

Urbane Guerrilla 12-20-2007 03:12 AM

The simmering makes a sauce?

Cannned corned beef works quite well enough as the meat in Bolognese pasta sauce, too.

Meanwhile, around the house, we reckon pastirma substituted for Armour brand Chipped Beef would do nicely for creamed chipped beef on toast.

Yes and Mike gave me a deer camp recipe for canned beef. Just add canned hominy, well that saves peeling the damn taters anyway. No SALT. Black pepper ok. For SOS I just use ground round.

Urbane Guerrilla 12-22-2007 05:06 AM

I've et a fair bit of hamburger SOS, and while it's reasonably filling, I don't think it's a patch on the chipped beef, which has a piquancy the Midwestern crumbleburger in white sauce lacks. The meat, in short, needs to be seasoned with something having a bite, to offset the blander starches that are most of the rest of the dish.
