I noticed while they were grappling, the Scorpion was maneuvering it's tail around until it could sting not at the first available spot, but precisely where it wanted.

They are living creatures fighting to the death in an artificial setting for our entertainment. I don't think it requires a mad amound of empathy for said creatures to find that very distasteful.

If that wasa shot from a wildlife documentary I would view it very differently. There's nature red in tooth and claw, and then there's cock fights and bear baiting.
