Maybe this topic deserves a new thread? Or maybe NOT. We could just go with an Envy thread? Or a deadly sin thread...etc. etc.....

Syc's latest user title, "Extreme right-winger...in hockey" caught me off guard and made me laugh heartily.

elSicomoro 11-20-2004 10:51 PM

*bows*

It came to mind a couple of days ago...while listening to Sean Hannity, I believe.

wolf 11-20-2004 11:35 PM

You're listening to Hannity ... there's hope for you yet, boy.

elSicomoro 11-20-2004 11:51 PM

I'm sure you've heard the saying, "Keep your friends close, your enemies closer."

THM

marichiko 11-27-2004 12:24 PM

I would like to compliment ThreadHighjackMan for saving us all from drifting into the wide Sargasso Sea. :)

ThreadHijackMan 11-27-2004 07:11 PM

I would like to thank you for complimenting me.......in the compliment thread.

Anyway.......

elSicomoro 11-27-2004 07:20 PM

I would like to compliment THM on being a partial piece of shit, instead of a full-blown one.

slang 11-27-2004 08:15 PM

Hey, it's a start.

Let it out man, let it all out.

The CIA 11-27-2004 09:49 PM

I'd like to compliment Slang for his creative use of irony, and his ability to have a conversation with himself. Wouldn't you agree, LJ?

lumberjim 11-27-2004 09:50 PM

yer darn tootin'

slang 11-27-2004 09:56 PM

Gee, thanks guys.

Griff 11-28-2004 07:51 AM

Reminder to self: consolidate personalities ASAP

slang 11-28-2004 11:36 AM

I would like to compliment Griff on his willingness to consolidate personalities and just be happy being his Griff self.

It's the first step that's the hardest man. Be strong.

marichiko 11-29-2004 02:42 AM

I would like to compliment everybody on being their wildly original, very witty, slightly grumpy, highly opinionated self, no matter what their persona of the moment may be. ;)

Buddha 11-29-2004 02:44 AM

I quite agree! :D

Nah I don't think I'll do the compliments thing, but thanks to all of you who complimented me (Danac)

:D

LOL you forgot to thank "God" or "Your Lord and Savior". (just a joke just in case you don't believe).
:p

And yes, shame on Mr. Bush indeed.

And thanks to all that gave me props. Peace.

Heh, but we all know that Bruce loves the "brown sugar", so that settles it. He's all mine..muuuuhahaha! And we can take it outside, since I will fight for what's mine. ;)

Did I say that out loud? LOL :D

MaggieL, for being so good at the debating game. Even though I disagree with some of her views, I have to admit she does an amazing job of consistently defending her points.

skysidhe 08-27-2006 12:49 PM

I admire Brianna for her way with words.

dar512 08-28-2006 09:00 AM

LJ for his creativity. The new user titles are a hoot.

I know these change, and globally, so I wanted to capture this one live.

grant, thank you for the uplifting thought, thank you very much. Your words (by way of Richard Bach) are an inspiration and a comfort to me, especially today. Please accept my thanks and my compliments.

BigV 07-24-2007 06:44 PM

dar512 deserves my (our) compliments his reasoned well tempered posts. Ever the voice of reason, the cellar has been poorer for his absence and is richer for his recent return. It's good to see you around again, dar, really good.

DanaC 07-24-2007 06:52 PM

Can we also thank some of our recent crop of newbies? We seem to have hoovered up a few very cool people of late. I'm not gonna name names, because I'd end up forgetting someone and then feel terrible.

Uisge Beatha 07-24-2007 06:56 PM

I'd like to thank BigV for some wonderfully interesting posts, particularly pointing out this cool, if dusty, thread. :thumb: I've got some reading to do here.

Now that I think about it, you're right! So I'll second that.

Shawnee123 07-25-2007 07:41 AM

I'll third that, not naming names (cough cough UB, theotherguy, etc)

Uisge Beatha 07-25-2007 07:51 AM

Ya see what I'm saying - Shawnee is almost too nice. Heck, I'm just a schlump with a zuke!

I truly want to thank Shawnee for being a lovely, interesting, and funny enough lady to cause my lazy butt to get in the Cellar to make a few comments.

I also would like to compliment just about everyone here for making this such a great place.

Rexmons 07-25-2007 08:58 AM

Probably been said before but what the hell:

Thanks to all the genuine, intelligent people here who make this site what it is, and worth visiting.

Shawnee123 07-25-2007 11:42 AM

Thanks UB. That was very kind.

Thanks to all of you here who make me laugh and think and generally help me put up with myself by putting up with me. ;)

Uisge Beatha 07-30-2007 06:00 PM

I know this has been said before, but I think it bears repeating:
Thanks to Undertoad for making all this possible (and sharing cool stuff).
Thanks to wolf and Bruce for working diligently to keep it happening (and sharing their wisdom and wit).

DucksNuts 07-30-2007 06:15 PM

*cough*kissarse*cough*

Uisge Beatha 07-30-2007 06:22 PM

 Hey, we run with our talents. :p

Aliantha 07-30-2007 08:34 PM

I think Ducksy has the best arse on the Cellar.

Of course, that's just my personal opinion. :)

Wow! That sounds like a challenge. I think we need an Ass-off. Ladies only, please. Do we have any volunteers for the judge panel?

Aliantha 07-30-2007 09:13 PM

I'll be on the panel. My arse is definitely not suitable for this challenge. lol

Hey...I'll be judge of that.

You will definitely be a contender in the boob off, though.

Aliantha 07-30-2007 09:57 PM

Yes well, boobs are an entirely different story.

DucksNuts 07-30-2007 10:49 PM

Oh yeah, you chicks blow me outta the water in a boob off.

Aliantha 07-30-2007 10:57 PM

I'll take that as a compliment. ;)

Thanks, V. I feel the same way about your stuff.

Razzmatazz13 08-16-2007 01:27 AM

I originally decided to jump in and join the cellar to give you guys thanks, but I felt it was sort of attention whorish to make a whole thread dedicated to it so this thread is perfect!

As I stated in my other post (which I am sure not all of you read) I have been lurking here for quite some time, in the past I've popped in and out of the cellar reading all of your interesting and often amusing posts usually when I was bored or upset. In November I ended a four year relationship with a very yucky person. This wouldn't have been a problem except that I was very not used to being alone and needed the comfort of people around me, discussing things that didn't have anything to do with my previous relationship or any possible future ones. I was on the cellar every day floating amongst your posts and reading the stories of your lives. Although you don't know me, I want to thank you all for really helping me through a couple of rough times by just getting my mind off of things for a bit. I have a habit of reading through forums without looking at the names of those who post but the ones that I always remember when I come back to the cellar are these:
Undertoad (obvious reasons), lumberjim, Spexxvet, Onyx, wolf, Happy Monkey, sycamore and ladysycamore, marichiko, jaguar, Briana, DucksNuts, Bruce, Sawnee123, Elpsode, and DanaC...so thanks to you guys particularly for brightening my day...and my apologies for any misspellings.

An extra special thanks to wolf for being such a strong woman, I look up to you a lot.

Man...I hope none of you guys are creeped out by this...

xoxoxoBruce 08-16-2007 05:05 AM

Just LJ, he has lurkerphobia.

DanaC 08-16-2007 05:15 AM

Yeah, but we forgive him because of his astronomical cock.

Razzmatazz13 08-16-2007 01:57 PM

Mayhaps I should edit him out then, so he won't feel bad?

lumberjim 08-16-2007 02:40 PM

it's just an ongoing thing, razz.

It's like they found out that i was afraid of mice or something, and they like to tease me about it.

I'm not afraid of mice, btw.

SteveDallas 08-16-2007 02:46 PM

Unless they're mice who are lurking on The Cellar.

Shawnee123 08-16-2007 02:48 PM

reminds me of a joke:

Man is riding the bus. There is an old lady with an umbrella sitting across the aisle. Every now and then, the bus driver looks in his big rearview mirror, puts his hand around his throat, and makes gurgly noises. Each time, the little old lady gets out of her seat, hits the driver over the head with the umbrella, and goes to sit back down. This goes on for a few stops. The lady finally disembarks. The man can't stand his curiosity, so he moves up front and says to the driver "what in the world was going on with you and that old lady?" The driver replies "Oh, her daughter got strangled to death last week and I like to tease her about it."

Shawnee - that was a good one. It should be in the Humor thread.

DanaC 08-16-2007 09:08 PM

I think we should give the mods a big round of applause for not gettin in everyone's face.

I occasionally frequent a couple of other forums, mainly political or gaming in nature. One in particular seems to have very trigger happy mods and a rather disturbing Yellow Card/Red Card system. When I say trigger happy, I mean mods posting in a thread to warn people that it's drifted off topic, or locking it because people were getting personal.

So, big round of applause for the mods for being mainly unnoticed.
