Oh I forgot, there was a spate of that around here recently. Some doctors claimed it wasn't fifth but a similar unnamed virus. Either way, nasty rash, does go away. Also glad it isn't the carpet. poor kid's probably been feeling pretty grim, though.

I'm bummed about the sun thing. He's a kid, and it's hot out. He's going to want to be outside, and not all bundled up from the sun. Pool season is just beginning.
|
How long is he under house arrest?
|
I don't know. The doctor was vague. She said it lasts up to 6 weeks, but maybe as little as a week. The sun won't injure him, just make him uncomfortable. I think we'll play it by ear. Probably have him wear a wide brimmed hat and long sleeves, and see how that goes.

It wasn't too long for my friend's kid once he got over the fever. You could try an aussie sun suit

My wife took him to the pool after the doctor's appointment, and the rash didn't seem to get worse, so maybe it will be fine.
It's kind of amazing. He has no fever, but his skin is like a hot water bottle. |
That's really strange. Kids get all kinds of weird "things" that we didn't get as kids. And they don't get things like the Croup. ?

Let it be known that, if you complain when your daughter wakes up at 6:30 screaming her head off for no apparent reason, she will oblige you by doing it at 5:00 AM the next morning instead.

Ouch:(
