Well, Unless you can take a huge cut in pay, you don't want to do it for a living

I'd START by picking up a copy of "The Home Shop Machinist", which is a magazine available at most Barnes and Noble stores, and working from there

I'd also look at my local Community College - they often have machine shop courses. If you want to be GOOD at it, you should try to learn the basics, and NOT just the CNC stuff
