im glad a lot of people said Australia. I too would like to see all of my country - if anyone is into lounge surfing just PM me -

i havent seen enough of this globe to settle on a place yet. i would LOVE to see the states and i think i would have an absolute ball there. Europe may beok when i am a little older and want to do the whole expensive luxury trip. i have been around the pacific islands and i really like mystery island. i could sleep in a hammock and eat lobster the rest of my life.

I think some place different, strange, you know, exotic. Maybe Arkansas. :bolt:

zippyt 03-10-2007 12:19 AM

Maybe Arkansas

You would be welcome ANY time Bruce , and if'n you need to hide , well that could be arranged as well , but you would HAVE to get you some BUBBA teeth to fit in

Iceland or Japan.

Canada or South Africa

I left my country. I came to America.

Choice? what does that mean? ;)

I'd love to see Aus, I want to see everywhere -I was thrilled to get the opportunity to move here, I love it here, but I'd move away again in a shot. So far I've holidayed/vacationed in/through about half of the states. Road trip to Grand Canyon planned this year. Nothing is forever -take every opportunity you get and squeeze every drop out of it.

Iceland or Japan.
I have been to both , IceLand is different , cool but different , I would go back and travel more ,
Japan , well I was in the USMC and the folks in OKI didn't much care for us , no matter how nice you were , they still hated us , you could see it in their eyes ( sept the laundry lady in a barrecks , she would peep at us takeing showers , Funny when you busted Momasan she would get all embarresed and the such )
what country for me , well some place warm with beaches and jungle , may be the PI or Tiland , but AUS was nice as well , but they have TOOOOOO many dangerous critters in the water and the brush , but then again I DID like the AUS folks , sorta like Texans with a semi Brit accent .

My previous post disappeared :mecry:
Will try to recapture its wisdom.

Originally I thought perhaps I would get away with saying another country in the British Isles, but I fear that is cheating. I could easily live in Scotland, Wales or even the Republic of Ireland....

SO - further afield.

I am the only Brit I know who doesn't seem to dream of relocating to the antipodes. Australia and New Zealand are too hot, too full of dangerous creatures and too far from home for me. My Uncle seems to love it there though (Brisbane)

Europe is just too foreign for me. Great to visit for holidays or travel, but I couldn't see myself living there.

I would consider America - I would just have to choose the right are with regard to climate, politics and guns. Politics can change, but I think areas do have trends. I'd need to be somewhere with a fairly liberal heritage. I do come from a Socialist country after all.

And guns. I know it's a right and all that, but if everyone around me was routinely armed it would freak me out. I'd take my chances with German breakfasts of meat, meat and more meat rather than be the only person in a room without a gun.

I think the gun threads create the impression that Americans generally pack. It just isn't true. You will find a lot more armed homeowners though. The atmosphere is different, though, since if someone is armed in the UK its a cop or a criminal.

If I were to live somewhere else it would have to be lightly governed and have an inoffensive foreign policy. The US is streaking toward heavy handed government now that the GOP has completely lost its way. Maybe a remote enough place in Canada. I really liked Ireland and Costa Rica as a visitor. If my Spanish were better...

Sundae 03-11-2007 09:37 AM

Don't worry, if anything the gun threads made me aware of how few Americans carry guns. Something I am able to amaze my film-watching co-workers with.

That and the fact that Americans know how to cook.

BTW Griff - language isn't a barrier in this thread - wherever you move you can speak the language. Unless you are considering it in real life (people don't tend to accept arbitrary Cellar rules then)

Sorry about the pop up add

you should come to australia then zippy. Either right up the top, or right down the bottom. Problem is, neither place is really great for swimming. Crocs and stingers up north, and arctic temperatures down south. The rainforests are awesome though. ;)

I have been to AUS ( Perth ) , I liked it , but if I was going to move THAT far away I would rather not have to deal with the stingers , crocs and freezing my Boys off !!!

Aliantha 03-12-2007 09:47 PM

I see your point. ;)
