I'd take "cheese" (sorry, cheesestuff) in a can over that slimy looking meat in the pics of the guy actually eating one of those things. That looks like botulism just waiting to happen.:greenface

To go with it, how about a pickle in a can

Hey, Dana,

You may have to spell out to these merkins that you find that combination a little weird....

(when I try to explain the sweet/savory thing, it doesn't work. Savory means strong-tasting, not non-sweet. Sweet only being for dessert is a WTF type-of-idea here)

classicman 02-02-2008 01:25 AM

you guys amaze me - srsly.

DanaC 02-05-2008 10:22 AM

I just cannot reconcile chocolate chip pancake with meat product....that's like eating ice cream sprinkled with bacon bits....the two are not meant to coexist.

Aliantha 02-05-2008 05:51 PM

I totally agree with you Dana. Those yanks are weirdos. :D

talk about odd food combinations!

Clearly due to nefarious MBAs in senior management...

Okay, TW, you can come out now. Something about traceable to management? Hmm.

I agree on the chocolate chip pancake and sausage thing, only because it is probable that the ingredients are not what one would expect.

What, there's no pancake involved? Or no chocolate chip?

If the pancake, chocolate chip and sausage were all made out of the expected ingredients would that be ok? :P

you're asking the people who put maple syrup on bacon.

(and bacon bits on ice cream, I'm sure)

Undertoad 02-06-2008 09:12 PM

It's taken me 5 days to realize it, but a Yorkshirewoman is mocking us for our food??!

http://cellar.org/2008/black_pudding.jpg

Black pudding: blood and offal tied into natural intestine wrappers. The blood makes it black. Have a nice day!

lumberjim 02-06-2008 09:30 PM

some times a black pudding is just a black pudding.

and sometimes, it's a big black cock.

Aliantha 02-06-2008 10:06 PM

I wondered when someone would remember the black pudding. :D

zippyt 02-06-2008 10:24 PM

And vegamite :BARF:

Aliantha 02-06-2008 10:27 PM

Hey now, that's good stuff!

Shawnee123 02-07-2008 11:39 AM

Weird. This morning getting ready for work for some reason the song Land Down Under was running through my head. I remembered when it came out we had never heard of vegamite, I thought he was saying "he just smiled and gave me a bit of my sandwich." LOL

I've tried it. Um...yuck! :)
