I don't hate Merc., but there are times when he doesn't care, and posts anyway. Tonight he was on a roll just before I posted that. I figured I'd call him on it. But I just added to the negativity.

Dude, I totally respect you. If we have an issue I would rather take it off line and figure it out. Playing it out in public serves no purpose. You are right, I often just totally don't care. And I could give a shit what people think or feel, what you see is what you get. If you want to continue this I would be glad to exchange with you. If not no worries, it changes nothing for me.

Try 450 billion. :eyebrow:

My goodness, you certainly give President Obama more power than I have ever seen him use. If he can finish off the country, you'd think he'd take the Republicans down first.

Nope, only think he is shit for a leader and in the back seat of his power players, insurance companies, Union thugs, and lawyers. Oh, and Hollywood. :)

We all know the president, no matter what party they're from, is just a mouthpiece right? He didn't write the package, and he didn't write the speech. Here's a question from a dumb aussie. If the dems think Obama isn't going to win in 2012, can they put someone else forward instead? I don't quite get the whole structure of US politics in that way.

Over here in the westminister style of parliament we use, if a party loses faith in the leader, they can basically vote him/her out and stick him on the back bench and put someone else in charge.

In truth, I do not dispute Merc's classification of Obama. But, only because he has seriously let down the progressives - (but somehow I don't think that is what Merc is complaining about). Obama is worse than Clinton, in that respect, and I cant understand it - especially considering the campaign promises he made. I will probably vote for him, but I really wish I had another alternative. The workers and everyday people in this country need a stronger voice - the corporate business owners have it too good right now.

Exactly. I don't want a "progressive" as President of this nation. It goes against everything I believe this nation was founded on... But I sure as hell don't want some religious zealot in charge either.

Yes Ali, the party could nominate another person to run against the Republican challenger.
It is most unlikely as the R's have no real viable candidate right now.

classicman 09-08-2011 09:46 PM

Pico - nice non-answer. typical.

True, but his cronnies wrote it and he has to buy off on it to speak it....

Well they could, but it would be bad manners to try to run agains the incumbent and the only person who would have a chance in hell would be Hillary Clinton... and there is no way she could get elected unless Obama really screws up between now and then.

God I wish we could do that....

God Damm Right!

Quote:

Joel Pollack, Breitbart EIC:
Obama’s address was the worst major presidential address I have ever watched.
Substantively, Obama presented a “jobs” proposal that is more socialist than anything that even the most far-left Democrats have recently proposed as a new stimulus.
Also–if Congress must pass this jobs bill right away, why did Obama wait weeks, months, years to propose it?
Rhetorically, Obama’s speech was a shameless and breathless litany of straw men and partisan taunting. Republicans were right not to dignify this event with a rebuttal.
Overall, an insult to the American people. Barack Obama has diminished the presidency tonight.
I’m ready for some football.
"Millions of Shovel Ready Jobs!", Obama

How did that work out for ya?

Well, name me a single politician who doesn't share all these characteristics - from either side of the aisle. And your rants will sound less shrill if you use the correct numbers. 800 billion is almost twice 450 billion. Neither of which sums is going to bring the US down.

Plus, what's all this garbage about cliques and name calling? People get so down on Politics because everyone here is perceived as being mean. So then people post here for no other reason except to call each other names? Maybe we should have a forum just devoted to bratty behavior.

Can I be part of your clique, Classic? You know - confusion to our enemies and all that?
