I agree that change needs to occur, but like we've noted before, the nuts ruin their credibility.

How much does Greenpeace and PETA actually accomplish? Net gain, don't pick and choose.

As teh world grows more and more populated, credibility, the ability to overcome popular opinion to achieve an end, becomes more and more important.

There used to be ... Nature Conservancy and The Sierra Club (they do a nice appointment calendar) always seemed fairly moderate, however one of these organizations, I seem to recall, hired or appointed some notoriously radical member of Greenpeace to a position with impact on the org's mission and activities.

Some anti-immigration groups recently failed in a hostile takeover attempt on the Sierra Club, under the guise of "immigration causes overpopulation, which is bad for the environmnt."

Not relevant, but amusing.

Damn, if that had succeeded I would have had to reinitiate my membership. (yes, I've been a member of all of the organizations discussed at one point in time or another. I have many totebags.)

That document leads me to believe that there are a number of folks running loose who really ought to be visiting Wolf.
