Bummer!
You'd think the local cops would have better things to do in the wake of Katrina. Unfortunately, you were kind of asking for it with the OC thing. Hope things work out for you. 6 AA meetings ain't too bad. Around this town, you could get that all taken care of in a day! ;) |
BTW they put refused test, because I couldn't blow to suit them. I have emphzima, copt and asbastois and had been w/out ac and power for 7 days then. no breathing treatments.

If you could show that you have these conditions you could fight that in court , but if you had an open container , well I would explain the situation to the judge and see what happens , luck to ya !!!!
As to nameing the dog , if i could spend some time with her i could come up with a name , Hard to tell from just seeing a pic , you have to get to know the dogs personality . |
StaceyV said "She's going to live in the yard? Why are you bothering to get a pet? It's not fair to the dog to get her as a functional item to kill possums.
They're supposed to be companion animals, part of the pack. What a miserable, lonely life she'll lead. How about naming her "sorry"?" Stacey , you have evedently never had a Large working breed dog in a small house , they get bord and will chew up ANY thing they can get their mouth around , some of them ( Labs , Chesseys , etc,,,) have ATOMIC tailes , ever seen a verry expencive crystal coffie table dodad hit a hard floor , they FART loudenough and smelly enough to clear a room , they are BREAD to be out doors , to with stand the elements , to keep the yard clear of rodents , hell even little dogs have jobs , ever hear of a RAT Terrier ??? What could They be for ??? Ever seen a Jack Russel go after a sguirle or mouse ??? Docshounds ars long and short to go after burrowing critters !! labs and Chessies are Happyiest when they are running and swimming in the water going after fallen birds , FACT !!! So BB wants this dog to keep the critters out of his yard , she has a purpose , a mission in life , besides sitting in some bodys lap I bet if she is even sorta efective she will live out a LONG and happy life guarding his garden , romping on her 120' cable run ( does your dog or dogs have THAT much running room?????? ) barking at the various critters that come visiting in the nite . Oh and she WILL be part of the pack , the out side guard , the first line of deffence !! |
Zippyt is right on! Only those little lap-dog thingeys which aren't anything like serious ("working") dogs should be kept in the house, for their own health and yours. If a dog can't run and chase, he will use his imagination to keep busy and you won't like the results. It isn't a cruelty, they are constructed to be outdoors and will do just fine except in extreme cold or snow season. Just give them shade and clean water and some purpose to achieve and they are perfectly happy and healthy. I bred Australian Shepherds and Border Collies, and they got to sleep in the garage if the temperature in Phoenix was forcast to be below 25 degrees, but other than that they didn't need any pampering.

I operate a breathalyzer (actually an ALCO-Sensor brand) regularly. It doesn't take much of a blow to get a reasonably accurate result. Regular old exhale is more than enough for the breath test. |

I am seriously thinking about buying a portable breathaylzer to take to events so I can encourage my friends to test themselves before driving. But, I would probably just piss them off if I did that. |
I think Sheila fits nicely but you never really know until you get to know the personality. Plus its close enough to Stella that if she is used to it the transition won't be difficult.
She's cute and looks like fun. You can come to my house and build my dogs a ruyn. Scooping there poop would be nice too. Thanks ahead of time. :right: |

Also, if you test someone at the site, they are below your state limit ... they drive and through the magic of metabolism their BAL goes UP ... they get popped for DUI and they blame you for the rest of their lives. They probably think you're a terrible preachy asshole (I don't actually conceive of you this way) since you stopped drinking anyway. The Breathalyzer would only make that worse. |
Wolf, your right again. Sorry UT. Will claim the over look was because of trying to get my rabbit assed mind around some of the more asinine post. :thankyou:

The bitch slipped her collar last night, but was on door steps when a friend woke me up this AM. I put her on a 10' chain and let her go to my swing around dark. There seems to to be a slight problem with Dotty as to who's the big dog:lol2: I have a feeling she's been mistreated.

Actually, I had a rottweiler for 7 years that lived in my one bedroom apartment with me. She went outside, for walks, to the park and to the beach for exercise, but she never lived outside.
To prevent chewing, I gave her appropriate chew toys and kept her in a crate while I was working until I could trust her. They DO learn to leave your things alone and use their own toys. For housebreaking- crated until she was reliable. Yes, working dogs love to have a job to do. That's why I obedience trained her . She was at her happiest when we were going through her commands "sit, down, stay, on your side, come, heel, fetch, find a stick, etc. Farting? Yeah, if you feed cheap soy and corn-based food. My rotti never farted unless someone gave her a cheap dog treat like milkbones. What the hell are you feeding your dog? 'Ol Roy? Worse? It's all a matter of if you have the will and the make the effort to train your dog. Yeah, if you're too lazy to train the dog and too cheap to feed something that won't give it diarrhea and gas, then I guess keeping it outside is a "solution". |

I think Stacey's article does raise a lot of good points. If Sheila is being kept outside alone, it is no surprise that she slipped her collar. She's lonely.
My first Cardigan Corgi was an indoor dog. I knew that Cardigans had been bred to herd sheep and are lively dogs that need a lot of exercise. A Cardigan is a deceptive looking dog. They seem small because of their short legs, but what they are is a big dog on short legs. My Cardigan got two 45 minutes walks a day, lots of time playing ball with ME in the back yard, and the basics of obediance training. I fed him a good diet and gave him real meaty bones to chew on, as well as lots of chew toys. He was too low slung for his waving tail to knock stuff off the coffee table. He was house trained in two days, and the greatest "sin" he ever committed was my own fault. I'd bought a new pair of leather shoes and foolishly left the shoes in a box alone with my pup when I was suddenly had to go leave the house to do something. I returned home to a brand new pair of thoroughly chewed up shoes. I'd say I averaged two hours a day doing things with my dog - walking him, playing ball, etc. He was worth every moment. The rest of the time he was content to chew on a bone while I read or watched TV or whatever. A dog is like anything else. Your reward will be in direct proportion to the amount of time you put in with it. Now, I'll go down with Tonchi for my rabies shot. ;) (Here's a pic of my new Cardi pup's older half sister winning a herding trial): |
