Those presents are incredibly neatly stacked, fob -OCD much? ;)

Er... I guess I shouldn't mention that the different patterns of wrapping paper indicate what branch of the family the gift goes to, so we can quickly and easily pull out what we need for the three separate events we'll be participating in?

Well, we kinda assumed that. :)

Not completely, as the curtain is closed in one, but not the other, but I do have multiple shots each way.

But the night-time flash mode does do a bit of mini-HDR automatically, by exposing the background for a long time, and anything within reach of the flash for a short time, at higher intensity.

Beautiful trees, I feel quite privileged to be let into your houses (HINT - more Dwellar video tours!) But in general they are HUUUUUGE!!!!

Didn't take a pic of "ours" this year - with me penniless I wasn't expecting one, but when HM turned up with one early December I was so excited. When he hadn't decorated it in 4 days I undertook the task (which was a treat when I was growing up, hence my 4 day delay).

First the lights shorted out and he said he would sort it. And get a proper holder from the loft (attic) to water the tree.

Yesterday he admitted his failure re both lights, watering and being too cheap to buy a non-shedding tree. We have some sticks in a bucket and a pile of needles that need to be swept up daily. Ah well - I have a cool tree topper now thanks to Secret Santa!

My dad is so awesome! We had intended to cut our own tree this year as usual, but the weather was awful every time we both had a day off...eventually it got to be too late...so he found this fake tree he had in storage, and decorated it for me so I wouldn't be bummed. :D

Fifty-odd years ago, my wife and I celebrated our first year of marriage, and my mother-in-law earned her first of many gold stars. We were in Texas where the piney woods make for puny X-mas trees, and we were broke.

I was astounded when a tree wrapped in burlap arrived via U.S. Postal Service by my Mother-In-Law all the way from Montana. Although it made my wife a bit homesick each year, this became an annual gift to us as we finished our stint in Dallas, and moved on to Boston, and then Buffalo.

Thats a great story LL.
A couple years ago I was too broke to buy a tree. I came home one day to find one in my living room. Apparently my kids got together with some friends & bought one. Knowing how much I love having a tree, it really made me happy & proud.
