That's a much better pencil, but the problem is I'm trying to keep it to 2 colors for printing costs, and if I change the colors, the eraser will look strange. A pen on the other hand looks good any color.

And...the eraser would look like it's floating away if it printed a little off register.

I've got the logo on the page with new colors to choose from.

I'm leaning toward #6 and #9

bluecuracao 03-09-2007 12:10 AM

#9 is nice...I like #8 too, and #5 the best. The tea/orange-brown is one of my favorite color combinations--makes good duotones if you're printing 2-color with photos.

Well, I like your pencil, Wolf. Don't be put off by these practical people that value bottom line, over your artistic genius. But then again, I knew it's a ferrule. :haha:

2, 7, 5 in that order
but TBH any of the logos on that page work for me

monster 03-09-2007 06:55 AM

Not 1 or 12. If you go with one of the brown/reddish tones, wolf's pencil will work too (I liked it as well, wolf).

LabRat 03-09-2007 08:46 AM

I dislike #10 and #11 greatly.

The rest with the blue as the main color are all about equal.

I like #1 better than #12, but that's more because I really dislike the color orange, because I can't wear it. :) As a logo, it's probably just fine and stands out nicely.

ogwen69 03-09-2007 09:23 AM

#7 for me - i like the colours, nice and warm, followed by #2

oops forgot to say why -I don't think the contrast is great enough with these two.

That's why I kept the design to two colors ... the blue and red that were in the original image. It's the graphic that is important, not the color. People grasp the concept of pencil, even when it's not yellow. If it was entirely about printing costs (which should be nil for an online business unless you are intending to go to homeschooling conventions and such) you'd go for one-color plus black, which can as much as halve printing costs.

#2 and #8. For a lot of them the color values are WAY too close together, and are really "down," depressing colors. The brown's too muddy, my man. #1 and #12 are especially bad, IMHO.

Get some opinions from folks you know who are color blind. You'd be surprised at how few people think to do this.

Griff 03-09-2007 02:09 PM

#2 but I'd have like to have seen a bright red/ bright blue combo.
