No really, real tree always all the time, no fake trees. My parents had one when I was a kid, it was all the rage at the time. I hated it. We picked up our tree yesterday. |
See, I talked about making a real vs fake tree thread back at the end of november, but wanted to wait. Yesterday I had just remembered and finally got around to making it, when it was pointed out that LJ already HAD made one...so I felt silly and asked for it to be deleted but everyone started talking about boobs, so I switched it to boobs, but I can't edit the poll once it's up, or at least *I* couldn't figure out how if I can because I am a noob. So now it's sort of stuck between being about trees and being about boobs, really, just talk about whatever, I give up. :)
I'm pro natural on both topics, but have nothing against people who choose fake un's either way. |
I know people with fake knees, shoulders, hips and elbows. What about those people?
|
HLJ, if you were here right now, I'd be giving you a purple nurple.
I just thought you should know. :) |

HLJ, just to clarify - a proper purple nurple does not a sticky keyboard make.
|
That's alright - I'm going to run my keyboard through the dishwasher.

losers i tell you. conformist losers.
that's why i'm a non-conformist. just like all my friends. |
Ooooh...can I be one too?

I grew up with a fake tree - I didn't know any different so I loved it.
First person I knew with a real tree was when I was 13. We came back from school and her parents had put it up - she was delighted and said, "Oh it smells like Christmas now!" I was horrified that she didn't get to join in the decorating. Family customs, eh? Oh my Dad has a fake knee. Probably explains why he let fake trees into the house. |
I grew up with a fake tree, too. I don't particularly mind either way. But this year, we have sort of not done a tree...mostly because we are going to be in southern texas all week, where there is no snow...can't have christmas without snow, dammit!

My parents are house sitting at the moment (another 2 weeks being paid to live in a millionaire's house, how tiring) but close enough to home to pop back for my nephew's birthday. Talked to Mum tonight and she said they went back to their house and it felt so grey and drab and sad. I was just about to console her about the fact she isn't a millionaire when she added it was because she could see Christmas decorations in all the neighbours' houses and theirs was bare.
I felt a warm glow looking at our little leaning tree with lights that don't work. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, there's always someone worse off than me, how comforting... |
