Hmm. Good point on the cotton balls. Think I'll use your idea of the fur-fabric tail. Thanks for the save!

I'm going to dress up this year!

After year after year of saying to myself, "This is the last Halloween I let go by without properly celebrating" (ditto Valentines Day) I am going to an all night cinema special.

The dress code is simpy "Halloween", which in this country means horror, not fancy dress (costume in America I think). Looking for goth style clothes second hand on eBay. Have skirt and boots that will suit if I can get a goth-style top. Will wear a black wig and teeth, so it will all be done pretty cheaply.

BUT I DON'T CARE!
It's Halloween and I'm doing something! And other people will be there! And I will be dressed up!

(can you tell I'm excited?)

Go for it, SG. Do you have second hand or "thrift" clothing stores, where you might find a goth top?

Sundae 10-17-2008 10:49 AM

Not in my size :(

But eBay does just as well - especially as you can sort by size rather than spending hours and money on buses for places that don't stock anything above a size 12...

ETA - just wanted to add - I'm not buying anything above charity shop prices!

Yeah, I guess transportation is an issue. It's a shame though because the thrift shops have some outrageous shit that probably nobody would try to sell on ebay. Although, I don't shop ebay so they might. Hope you find something cool. :thumb:

Have decided no new clothes.
Instead I've spent less money to far greater effect on accessories.

Wig, teeth and fake blood all ordered, come to less than £10 including postage. In my mind I'm a vampire. However if you count it as a costume rather than fancy dress, I'm going as a fat goth :)

Very excited about this. Am probably going to be a bit annoying about it.
Already trying to work out - if I stay up late on Tuesday & Weds I'll go to bed early on Thurs and ask if I can come in an hour late Fri, so have a lie-in and be able to stay up all night easily...

I'm such a kid.
In fact I've already got a semi-serious deal with my boss where she pays my entrance fee to things and I take her daughter. First on the list being the country's best amusement park (Alton Towers) which C has been begging to go to for years...

Shame I can't take her to this - but then she is only 13 :)

Aaah. I'll just be celebrating days of the dead..... Or I'll just walk around the house as, "the economy" too.

Just being curious, maybe monster can help here...but it looks like you're using a different interpretation of "fancy dress" and "costume" to what I'm used to...

"Fancy dress" to me would be like, prom dinner...and "costume" is um...dressing up as someone/something you're not...for a special occasion (like halloween)

fancy dress (brit) = costume (US)

fancy dress (US) = Done up like a dog's dinner (Brit)

Hey Razz - loks like you are wearing the top of the lantern as a hat in that group pic - just sayin.

Sundae 10-20-2008 04:05 AM

Sorry, I did try to specify, but obviously wasn't clear.
Anyway like I say, our Halloween is all about dressing up spookily. If I turned up as a superhero or a celbrity I would get some funny looks. In fact travelling on my own on the Tube (especially at 07.00 the next morning) I'll get some funny looks anyway.

I don't care. I'm celebrating Halloween!
In fact... No, I'll put it in the Happy thread.

Razzmatazz13 10-20-2008 11:43 PM

classic:

you are not the first person to say that

and the NEXT person to say that, will be punched in the face (and/or kicked in the cunt)

that is all.

I mean seriously people, I look smokin in that dress, it shows off every curve I have, and yet all you can comment on is the damn lantern? My boyfriend's wearing a superman belt buckle, but does THAT bother you people? No, it's the lantern.

classicman 10-21-2008 12:02 AM

I didn't even notice you boyfriend because I was so captivated by your beauty. Now that I look again there is another couple in the pic too. Who the hell are they and where did they come from? Srsly, photoshop that thin out - cuz you do look very nice, but that goes without saying.

that better?

classicman 10-21-2008 12:03 AM

Oh and for FSM sake - feed that guy on your right!

Razzmatazz13 10-21-2008 12:09 AM
