Hi infini.

Yes, I have the normal amount of biases. You don't have any special insight as to their source though, and your assertion that my bias is because I don't like you is wrong. I do like you. You compound this error by imagining why I don't like you, though you're definitely the one to assess whether or not you completely like me, gotta give you that one.

I already said I heard alarm, possibly theatrical alarm, the kind of whimsy you have fun writing. Whatever. I did not call your post "alarmist". That would be putting words in my mouth. I do find your suggestion as to what's appropriate to comment on and what's not given your original screed about what we can't talk about hypocritical, though you might just making another try at funny. *shrug* The Pompous Man card belongs to mons, does she know you're trying to play it?

As for "slobbering up UT's ass", fuck you.

Andrdew Breitbart's been dead for a whole month, and he's still stirring the Dwellar pot.

It's still all Bush's fault, Palin is still a silly twit, and Cheney has been released
from the hospital and is skulking all around the city at night.
Keep your children inside after the sundown

So, what do you guys want to talk about? The weather? No, that's on the news so I don't have my own opinion about it. ;)

I was going along with your "joke."
Should I have added a smiley?

Sure, if a smilie of you jumping on the bandwagon exists.

Is it crowded, with you and bv clamoring for space up ut's ass?

henry quirk 04-05-2012 09:00 AM

BV,

You'll note: I said nothing about Toad being an idiot or stupid.

Specifically: I said, 'her (IM's) comment was smart and funny...yours (Toad's), reactionary and stupid.'.

So much for your reading comprehension.

In light of your lack: the rest of your post isn't worth responding to.

So if the grass is green, and the media says the grass is green, and Sundae believes the grass is green, she believes it only because the media said the grass is green, and, in fact, the grass is not green. Hmmm.

Undertoad 04-05-2012 09:38 AM

I am self-banning from Politics through the end of the year.

But you are making the assumption that the grass is green even though you personally have never seen it. You want the grass to be green so you will take statements saying 'the grass is green' as more valid than statements saying 'the grass isn't as green as you think'.

Politics is largely an act and politicians will say, within certain constraints, what is needed to get votes. It makes perfect sense for Republican candidates to take socially conservative stances because that is the only way they will get elected. Ask John Huntsman how well the socially liberal economically conservative stance went for him. Look how Romney's views drastically changed since he was governor of Massachusetts.

The media then focuses on the extreme viewpoints that will get an emotional reaction out of viewers ('This politician is nuts!' type response) because they get higher ratings. Then, the politicians can either disregard those allegations (Obama) or embrace them (Republican candidates) depending on whether they believe it will help them or not.

To get to the point, the Republican candidates are not as crazy as the are portrayed because only their extreme views are only ones that get attention. Personally I would never vote for them but I don't believe they are as stupid as they come off to be.

Nothing wrong with my reading comprehension. Neither is there anything wrong with your writing implication.

Care to clarify this part of your post?

henry quirk 04-05-2012 03:48 PM

I stand corrected. I did indeed call Toad an idiot...so much for my memory (or eyesight).

*shrug*

BigV 04-05-2012 04:00 PM

Thanks for the clarification. I appreciate your honesty and acknowledgment.
