jester 10-23-2007 11:44 AM

Well, that's the highlight of my day:right:

Undertoad 10-23-2007 01:07 PM

Hey I outscored 5 different teams this week! Just not the one I was playing against.

jinx 10-23-2007 01:21 PM

I am very pleased to have the only win in my division this week. :cheerldr:

lumberjim 10-23-2007 01:45 PM

your dedication to your team is commendable.

(secret message to guys below)

Yo. do whatever you have to do to get your lady into fantasy football. They actually start to like the competition, and get to know players.....then they take an interest in the games......pretty soon, you find that she's tuning into the Sunday night game with out you having to promise to clean the gutters! amazing.

jinx 10-23-2007 01:56 PM

I don't want the gutters cleaned anyway. I want them replaced.

lumberjim 10-23-2007 02:08 PM

D'OH!

I managed to keep it under 100 so I won.

W.HI.P 10-25-2007 08:38 AM

I'm 3-0 since joining this league here, and this week coming up looks pretty easy.
Eagle Green, i'm gonna give you a run for your money!

Clodfobble 10-25-2007 03:10 PM

Yabbut, winning's easy when you deliberately pick good players!

theotherguy 10-25-2007 03:14 PM

This was the first year I have not played in money games. I think that had an affect on my draft and my participation in this thing. No skin in the game makes it easier to forget.

I always play in money games, but you know what. I find them just as competitive without.
I take 1st in over 50% of money games, and I win at least half of them, so the same income comes my way each season.
This league here, is a tad different. By no mean would I forget it.
Maybe I enjoy it even more.
With money down, it seems more of an obligation then enjoyment.

Yes! And you'll note, you predicted I'd be 0-16 for the season, but so far I'm 2-5, which is better than or equal to three other teams in the league, all of whom chose their players by more traditional (pah!) methods.

lumberjim 10-26-2007 10:56 AM

good thing there are guys like plaxico burress. weird name AND gobs of talent.

It makes sense.
Even really bad teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers got a few wins last year.
Did you have any idea how good Plexico was when you picked him?
You should have picked up Gore at RB, he certainly has a name, and ability.

Clodfobble 10-26-2007 11:54 AM

Meh, if one of them was a contender for President the name can't be that weird... I did not know Plaxico was any good, though I had heard the name before. I used to work on a football videogame at one point, so I was familiar with most of the weirder names because we had to help the voicetalent figure out how to pronounce them.

Baseball's awesome for names too. Like Coco Crisp, Milton Bradley...

Yeah, it may not be such a well-known brand up in Canada... but for basically the entire 20th century, pretty much every single American board game made for children was manufactured by the Milton Bradley company. The baseball player's parents most certainly knew what they were doing when they named their kid Milton.

I'm going to crush Ut this week. I sent him a text message early in the week....calling him a cock. ...and then i didn't answer the phone when he called..... he's SOoo rattled by now, he'll surely make some horrendous miscalculation and hand me the easy victory. Mwuuu..huuu...huu....haaaaaaagh

Undertoad 11-02-2007 10:59 AM

Just onnnnnne thing:

When you see the Eagles' slot receiver Kevin Curtis going for 75 yards and a TD, just remember... he's not only beating your precious Cowgirls, he's also on my fantasy squad.

jinx 11-10-2007 07:39 PM

Who wants to trade me a decent WR so I can beat Sycamore this week? Griff.... Zip? He's winning your division... :ipray::ipray::ipray:

jinx 11-11-2007 01:00 AM

C'mon griff man, gimme T.O.
I'll trade Reggie Bush for him - it's a win-win. C'monnnnnnnn!!!

Griff 11-11-2007 06:23 AM

You a very funny girl jinx!

lumberjim 11-11-2007 06:28 PM

go jinx!

jinx 11-11-2007 06:51 PM

Don't get too excited, I only have a 26pt lead. Syc's remaining player has scored 28pts the past 2 weeks... it's a nail biter...

lumberjim 11-11-2007 07:08 PM

4 weeks left. trade deadline is the 14th!

elSicomoro 11-19-2007 11:00 PM

Don't forget, guys...3 games on Thursday: Packers/Lions, Jets/Cowboys and Colts/Falcons. Make sure you check and set your teams by Thursday morning.

LJ 11-22-2007 12:02 AM

you're going down this week, punk.

carson palmer is a bitch, and joseph adai is destined to fail.

elSicomoro 11-22-2007 01:11 AM

You better hope that Brady is ready to go Sunday.

Griff 11-22-2007 06:52 AM

Did zip stop playing?

elSicomoro 11-22-2007 10:53 AM

I would if I were as bad as him. ;)

jinx 11-22-2007 10:56 AM

I would either fix up my team or drop my good players. [/hint hint]

zippyt 11-22-2007 11:16 AM

We are Troop is disbanded ,
I sent ALL these loosers packing !!!
snag who ya want !!

LJ 11-22-2007 09:48 PM

the playoff picture:

as it stand right now.....were the season to end today....

sycamore, spode and ducks/whip are division leaders. jinx, griff, and I are contenders for the one wild card spot.

tie breakers are winning pctg then total points. at present, jinx has the edge due to her tie, so she would take it.

if jinx beats spode this week, and I beat sycamore.( griff is playing troop...which has no players, so ....syc would take the wild card spot because I'd win our tie breaker and he'd have the next highest point total.

If syc beats me.....i'm probably fucked.

W.HI.P 11-23-2007 11:09 AM

1)Southside Sycamore's
Quote:

3)Southside Sycamoores
You may actually finish in first in this league...C.Palmer will be a key to winning in the playoffs as he will produce more points than any other player should he remain healthy. The Bears are best defence with a very very easy schedule. Your WR's are elite ..you could use 1 RB.
Good luck
Good stuff, but now with me in the game, you may not win this!

2)The Vacancies
Quote:

9)The vacancies
Not that bad of a team, you know your stuff, but you lack knowledge in fantasy, you're gonna lose a lot of points due to lack of quality in key positions. P.manning will win you some games, and should you make the playoffs, you would be strong at the end, but i don't think you'll make the playoffs
You are without a doubt a contender as you will probabl make the playoffs

3)The Bimbo's
Quote:

7)The bimbos
Excellent picks, I like your team...there are a few teams better.
You obviously know the game though.
I'd like to think that I've helped this team get to where it is.
(The new favorites)

4)Buncha Girls
Quote:

6)Buncha girls
There are reasons that you cannot win this league.
Your picks are great, your team is great....
One of the keys to success in fantasy is to know who plays who, and WHEN ...at the end of the season, when you're in the playoffs, you're gonna lose, because your opponents will have key players playing weak defences.
Its playoff time, and you're almost there, but as i said in the quote...

5)The Bullies
Quote:

5)The Bullies
Your key units are stellar, but you lack depth to win this.
Unless of course you make the right moves.
Got you right on the money

6)Goats
Quote:

2)Goats
I may be wrong to rank you so high as the teams directly below you look better overall, but you've picked up some key players that should produce consistent points for you.
You will lose against some teams below you.
Lets see if you can push into the playoffs

7)Eagle Green
Quote:

1)Eagle green
You are the BIG FAVORITE to win this thing, even if mcnabb gets injured ...your picks are close to perfect...You lack a bit in the WR.
If I was to place money down on who's gonna win this thing, it would be on your team hands down!
Ok, now this is kinda unfair given the fact that I joined the league in your division. I still like your team.

8)Ratt's Rogues
Quote:

8)Ratts rogues
You picked some heavy duty units in the draft, but IMO, you made some serious mistakes in some rounds which will cost you.
I could take this team and possibly do something with it as there are plenty of moves you can make..trades, free agents.
Make the moves and make the playoffs
On the money

9)Monkey Ballers
Quote:

10)Monkey Ballers
The teams weak, you do have some good players, but you lack the players that will produce the points...you will win some, but you ill be below .500 at the end of the year
On the money

10)Toadville Sysadmins
Quote:

4)Toadville Sysadmins
I'm not saying you won't win it, I just think the 3 teams above you are better
Ok, call this sucking up to the Sysadmins

11)The Austin Capybary's
Quote:

12)The Austin Capybaras
Ok...umm, I assume this is a team to fill the league up?
I've never seen such a bad team...final record=0-16
I'm suprised

12)We are troop
Quote:

11)We are the troop
Its not gonna work, I'm not saying you'll finished 11th, bu you will be in the bottom half at the end of the year.
I could not take this team and do anything with it.
You lack too much in too many positions.
A.Johnson is a pretty good pick in that round, but you will mostly lose.
On the money

elSicomoro 11-25-2007 10:51 PM

I really thought I was going to lose, given Brady's recent history, but Wes Welker was my secret weapon tonight. I have a win next week...now I just need Jim to beat Griff to claim the division.
