The panoramic view from near the dining hall at Gaea Retreat Center, from whence I have just returned after another successful Pagan Festival.

Snapped that before all the writhing naked bodies showed up, eh?

I just got back from a trip with my Dad to Boston to see my step-brother. My Dad wanted to visit the heavy cruiser USS Salem (CA-139)...the sister ship to the USS Newport News (CA-148), on which he served. A few photos (of the hundreds I took on the trip)...

Good shots - Wow those are huge!

Wow Jinx you are going to be a pro at macro! :)
@dmg1969> Nothing better than a big gun! |
dmg, were you able to fit your head in the barrel?
|
Nice pics dmg. I've been on the USS Alabama, and the big ones are impressive. My only specific memory: Stenciled on the protective gunner's shields were the words "LEAD, DAMMIT, LEAD".

Thanks, classic.
Nirvana...agreed. HLJ, I'm sure it would have been close had they not been sealed. Gravdigr, the Alabama is a beautifully preserved battleship. They are awesome to check out if you can. One pic I took that i thought was interesting was a placard of what to do in case of an "atomic attack". |
A few photos from the cruise my brother and I took around Boston Harbor. You launch from a dock in the Quincy shipyards, go to Logan Airport, over to Boston and then back to Quincy.

What time did you take that last picture?
Looks really nice. They don't seem to build them the way they used to. |
I'm thinking around noon. :D
You are right...those are some very interesting architectural features and colors. Did you take note of the building behind the clock tower building? It almost reminds me of something you'd see in the middle east. |
