Cute. lol. Poor Bosco :P

Jinx. That cat is so amazing. And honestly, I can't recall if you have posted pics or not :P Btw, have I ever mentioned your house is gorgeous! Look at that ceiling with those fabulous rafters! Lovely. Really lovely.

Yeah, the exposed beams are cool, but that staircase is freaking amazing! Do you use it? If I was a kid, I'd use it exclusively. It's like a climbing wall.

I just got a new dog!

She's a two year old Norwegian Elkhound, and her name is Maya. We adopted her from the county animal shelter last Thursday.

She is a sweetheart and a real clown! Very good at walking on a leash, and gets along great with our other two dogs.

That's how Maya is. If I sweet-talk her patiently I can get her to climb into the car to go home from somewhere, but she won't jump in to leave. Once she gets in, she's fine, and she does enjoy the trips to the park and such.

I suppose she has a bad memory associated with a car ride (hm, perhaps the one that took her away from her previous family?) and it will take a while to convince her that the car leads to good things.

I want ferrets someday! Not now though... too many other pets.

I'm going to start with the dogs; Here's Leda, my cute-but-stupid Chug:

They've worn the grass in back down to a mudpit. :(

Juni, way to go! Saved a life, rather than paying for one. She is adorable! Love the one floppy ear.

Sol Rosenberg doesn't afraid of anything. He will totally the whole thing.

He was raised by a hippie in a van until the age of 2, when the hippie went to jail for selling pot. Then he became mine, and that makes him.... 11. All the dogs fear him, but he's SO SWEET.

Clodfobble 05-08-2009 02:40 PM

It's because they know he's obviously a narc!

Tiki 05-08-2009 04:12 PM

capnhowdy 05-08-2009 04:12 PM

I think ALL cats are narcs.

BTW I have a lot of pets but the only ones I bought "new" (so to speak) were the chickens and the guinea pigs. All the rest were rescues and hand-me-downs.

Yay for slightly used pets!

Turbo and Pico are both rescues...Turbo, when he was a kitty and Pico when he was a year old. They are the best of buddies. One of these days I am going to take a video of them play fighting...its hilarious.

Theses are camera phone pics so the quality is sucky.

My sister had a staircase exactly like that in her old house, and instead of keeping its AWESOMENESS or even replacing it with a slightly less treacherous version she found some Craigslist crackhead "contractor" to rip it out (after being told by a couple of reputable contractors that what she wanted to do would harm the house structurally and they wouldn't do it) and ended up ruining, and then losing, her house. She paid the "contractor" instead of her mortgage, using the logic that - yeah, nevermind. Not using any logic at all.

Not really funny, but now she's embroiled in lawsuits, trying to recover the FULL POST-REMODEL value of her house, with various insurance companies, all of which insist it was her fault. Which it was. Rarely will I agree with an insurance company, but man, stupid is as stupid does...
