Anyways, I thought ob/gyns are gentler than regular doctors for those kinds of check-ups. WRONG! Maybe I need to change clinic. While both of the docs I saw were nice, I found them to be a bit patronizing. Or is it me? Maybe I need to have a more authoritative vibe.

Soreness at TDaP injection site is normal, no need to worry. Any IM injection of 1 cc causes soreness, never mind the slight swelling it should induce as your immune system kicks in. Which is to say, all is well, Lola. :)

As for OB/GYNs being gentler ... hard to say. Maybe your doc just did what was necessary and actually got the necessary samples, as opposed to someone who puts your comfort above all and doesn't actually do what's needed.

However,'patronizing' is NEVER acceptable as an attitude during an exam, or any other sort of appointment. If you got this vibe, go elsewhere next time.

Oh, do they have those in prescription strength now?

BigV 08-10-2014 11:32 AM

I wonder if you get them from Dr Feelgood.

What do they call the person who finished last in med school? Doctor!

orthodoc 08-14-2014 10:24 PM

Yeah. Even though the person who finished last in med school was far ahead of 99% of academics who applied - at least, in Canada. In the US, there are so many private for-profit 'schools' that are just diploma mills that it's totally disheartening.

In some countries, 'doctor' means something.

Not sure if this fits here, but I got this in mail other day. From a friend in western PA. Her spelling.

how have you been doing, haven't heard much from you lately, im still kicking, fighting to see what is going on with bad doctors, mistakes, and what is going to happen next. I have lost my left breast and left arm pits, and my left arm limpnodes, pathologist said I had breast cancer, now that its gone they say oooops we made a mistake you didn't need to loose your breast you have stage 4 melanoma or a un know source, not breast cancer, cant say much more. but I am fucking mad,,,and don't want any one to do any more I don't trust any one, I hate how I hurt and , cant explain to any one how I feel,, love you BH
