will not happen

theotherguy 11-26-2007 11:19 AM

My team is sad, neglected and hungry. Poor bastards.

LJ 11-28-2007 12:48 AM

The Playoff Picture

Western Division

sycamore is 9-3
Griff 8-4
Jim 7-5
Troop - will finish 2-12

Central Division

Whip/Ducks 7-5
Blue 6-5-1
Jester 5-7
Toad 3-9

Eastern Division

Elspode 9-3 ( while totally asleep at the wheel, goddammit)
Jinx 7-4
otherguy 5-7
clodfobble 3-9

in the west:

sycamore plays troop next so will finish no worse than 10-4
Griff has to beat me AND sycmore to finish 10-4, but as the second tie breaker is total points, sycamore would win the division. If he DID win out, he'd take the wild card spot, so Griff controls his own destiny. I would need a mathematical miracle that i'm not about to type out.

Central:

blue faces WHIP/ducks this week, so if she wins, and they both win their subsequent games, blue's win pctg would be higher because of the tie. this week is essentially a playoff game for these two teams, as they will both probably roll over their next opponents (jester and UT respectively) jester needs an even bigger miracle than i do, and UT can look forward to a nice low draft pick next year.

In the East, Elspode faces two other absentee owners so will, undoubtedly finish 11-3, meaning jinx has no shot at the division title even though she will also trounce those same two foes as she faces them in turn. her best hope is for griff to lose at least one of his 2 much harder games. again, she has a tie, so her winning pctg would be higher if griff lost a game. otherguy has brett farvrrrrrrah, so he might shock one of those two teams, though.....and, thanks for playing clodfobble...your team has cool names. Both you and the other guy are mathematically eliminated at this point though.

Undertoad 11-28-2007 12:54 AM

wait, we get draft pix next year? based on this outcome?

LJ 11-28-2007 01:02 AM

no....i was just trying to be nice. you get diddlie.

Griff 11-29-2007 08:37 PM

TO kicks bully a**, details at eleven.

LJ 12-02-2007 10:54 PM

i need 34 points out of Tom Brady.......he averages 33.5 this year.....

its very exciting, flint.

Griff 12-07-2007 05:25 PM

[idle]Syc will now feel the pain of being in the toughest division in fantasy football.[/threat]

LJ 12-07-2007 05:48 PM

it's a playoff game for you this week, g. you must win to get in. otherwise....you stay home like me.

elSicomoro 12-07-2007 06:49 PM

Griff, first I will beat you. Then I will drive out to Pennsyltucky and steal your land. Then your car. Then Pete.

jinx 12-07-2007 06:57 PM

Go Sycamore, kick his caprine ass! :cheerldr:

You are the BIG FAVORITE to win this thing, even if mcnabb gets injured ...your picks are close to perfect...You lack a bit in the WR.
If I was to place money down on who's gonna win this thing, it would be on your team hands down!

She's gonna win it, just watch!

Quote:

2)Goats
I may be wrong to rank you so high as the teams directly below you look better overall, but you've picked up some key players that should produce consistent points for you.
You will lose against some teams below you.
You're right in there.
Maybe putting you 2nd favorite was right on the money!

Quote:

3)Southside Sycamoores
You may actually finish in first in this league...C.Palmer will be a key to winning in the playoffs as he will produce more points than any other player should he remain healthy. The Bears are best defence with a very very easy schedule. Your WR's are elite ..you could use 1 RB.
Good luck
You're obviously elite!
Quote:

9)The vacancies
Not that bad of a team, you know your stuff, but you lack knowledge in fantasy, you're gonna lose a lot of points due to lack of quality in key positions. P.manning will win you some games, and should you make the playoffs, you would be strong at the end, but i don't think you'll make the playoffs
Ok, well, you made the playoffs easier than I anticipated, and now, things loook very bright.

LJ 12-09-2007 09:08 PM

sycamore.....how much did griff give you to bench all your good players this week?

elSicomoro 12-09-2007 09:44 PM

Go figure...I decided to keep Grant and put Addai on the bench and they have big game days. Fortunately, the Ravens are having a shitty night and Brees could be back in a slow cycle. We'll see.

jester 12-10-2007 10:52 AM

I'm a no selling waste of space

elSicomoro 12-10-2007 10:55 PM

How do the playoffs work, Jim? 4 teams or 6?

LJ 12-10-2007 11:00 PM

4. division winners and 1 wild card.

you, elspode, bluec, and griff.

LJ 12-10-2007 11:08 PM

it should be griff @ elspode
and bluecuracao @ sycamore

then winners play for the cellarbowl.

jinx thinks you threw this game so you wouldnt have to face her in the playoffs.

ps. im sending a pm to spode to see if he knows he made it......

LJ 12-11-2007 08:35 AM

playoff grid

elSicomoro 12-11-2007 01:25 PM

How did I win my division when Griff thoroughly whupped my ass...twice? I play Blue, who officially came in 3rd, since she won her division. But Griff plays Ep, who is number one.

LJ 12-11-2007 09:20 PM

you had a better record. and griff, the wildcard team(#4 seed), plays the #1 team; then #2&#3 play

i tied in my other league, but lost due to my division record being lower. even tho i had more total points. it shows me on top of the division, and the team below me made the playoffs. cock.

LJ 12-11-2007 09:23 PM

correction....

you had the same record, the same division record....but you had more points.

W.HI.P 12-11-2007 11:33 PM

Eagle Green!!!
Take Faulk out and put Jacobs in...like ASAP

Griff 12-12-2007 07:04 PM

Well Spode, we gonna put something weird on the line this week? Goat cheese vs?

Yeah, I was looking at my lineup the other day, thinking I might want to do that. Things are looking better now. Thanks man!

elSicomoro 12-12-2007 10:40 PM

Actually, Blue and I should put something on the line too...like a case of Yuengling vs. a case of Schlafly.

You're very welcome. I'm obviously cheering for you(nothing against your opponents)
.... and its not because i've got my money on you either.

I would seriously consider benching the Falcons White for the Eagles Brown this week as things don't look to good for White in this particular match-up even if he plays, he' gonna be extremely limited.
Brown is questionable, but lets not forget, he's a great reciever playing against a very weak defence.... could be a big day.

Sycamore's team is good.

You would want to avoid Goats team in the final as he holds some players who will put in some extra effort next week should he make it to the final....otherwise, you've won it as the Vacancies players will not produce at all next week

W.HI.P 12-16-2007 03:10 PM

So it will be Eagle Green vs Goats in the Final!!

My predictions were perfect before the season started :p

Go Blue Curacao!!!

LJ 12-16-2007 09:15 PM

syc, you blew it!

your bench out scored your starters!

52 points? hang your head.

elSicomoro 12-16-2007 10:58 PM

Yeah...I dunno what the fuck happened. Didn't do so hot down the stretch either. Ah well...I enjoyed myself. Go Goats!

There wasn't really much to work with, that team I ranked 7th at the start of the season, and still came pretty close to winning the division that we shared with the best team of them all Eagle Green

Excellent picks, I like your team...there are a few teams better.
You obviously know the game though.

I never said I'd win it, It was always going to be Eagle Green vs Goats

Griff 12-21-2007 08:39 PM

Brokey leg, so much for the longest winning streak in the history of Cellar fantasy football...

W.HI.P 12-21-2007 09:00 PM

Blue Curacao.
I don't know if Donovan will play 100%, but it is a fact that Hasselbeck won't play, so you need to do a switch if you have any hope of winning this.
You are at this time, the underdog

i like the sound of that...

think we'll have a full league next season without having to beg people?

i'm rooting for both of you

go youguys!

bluecuracao 12-21-2007 10:10 PM

I'm all aflutter.* The FF site doesn't say that Hasselbeck's not going to play, but a search implies that the secondary Seattle QB will be playing instead. W. T. F.

*pretty fucking annoyed

I'll just trust have to trust Whip on this. Thanks again, hon :joylove:

I think we'll develop a core of regulars, but it'll still rquire a little push. We could add a fantasy football question to the Cellar entrance exam.

I doubt we can get a group for the playoffs but I'm in if'n it comes to pass.

Griff 12-22-2007 07:00 AM

bluecuracao- I'mma gonna knock you out!

Everyone should rest for the Seahawks, including some of the back-up players, this should be an easy Ravens win....Unless of course the Ravens wanna lose for a better draft pick.
Either way, it should be close.
A Ravens bet looks like free money against the -10.5 spread

Bet on the Ravens!!

Your welcome girl.

Keep in mind, Donovan is playing against the worst defence in the game Saints, so he should have a party.
He may end up being the reason why you win this thing.

Good luck

Griff 12-23-2007 12:24 PM

I'm in big trouble. You already knocked my two most consistant scorers out of the game. I need huge games from Lewis and Brees.

bluecuracao 12-23-2007 12:37 PM

How convenient that McNabb and Brees are playing against each other. We can be twice as excited and/or anxious while watching just one game.

If you want to compete in the playoffs, you have to have a team to do so.

Lets see what the Cowboys do this Saturday against the Panthers.
Rest or play? Should they play? It would damage the Cowboys chances for the NFC Championship.

I told you when this thing started.
I told you that you were gonna win.
Now look at Jacobs!

bluecuracao 12-23-2007 01:29 PM

I'm not really, I just didn't want to jinx myself.

Griff 12-23-2007 01:44 PM

Well at least the Browns are getting pantsed by Cincy. If I can't win at least the Brownies can lose.

LJ 12-23-2007 07:32 PM

Congratulations, bluecuracao!

1st cellar league fantasy football champion!

nice job...you really turned it on down the stretch.

Griff 12-23-2007 07:49 PM

Superbowls never live up to the hype...

Congrats!

bluecuracao 12-28-2007 08:58 PM

Woo hoo! Thanks, you guys.

I still don't understand as much as I'd like to about the game and the whole process, but I know whole lot more now than I did at the beginning. If we do it again next year, I won't have to rely on auto draft to pick my team.

I feel truly honored to have won the first Cellar Fantasy Football championship! My father is very proud (and even more surprised).

Now that post was a long time in the waiting.

He should be proud. His daughter clearly had the best team.
Call it fate.

Of course we'll do it next year, and I'm sure you'll be worthy of defending your title.

Congrats Blue! ;)
