Well done, SG. What a fabulous achievement!

So how long before you pass your mum, Sundae? Will she be miffed? Will you have secret glee? Will you promise not to let whatever she says get you down? Atta girl.... :D

Mum overeats when they housesit, but she exercises far more (there are always dog/s to walk, it's one of the main reasons people have sitters). But I'm confident I'll have caught her by mid-August, latest.
And yes, I will have much, much glee! The main reason I started this with her was to have someone to pit myself against. It's mean but it's true, I work better that way. And she has not helped an awful lot, having treats and sweets in the house and in front of me. Luckily she has a sweet tooth, so the temptation is lessened, but giving up the booze does make me more susceptible (all that sugar suddenly cut out brings its own cravings). To give her her due, she has not had any alcohol in three weeks (excepting wine on Sunday when we were out) which has been a real help. And the fortnightly walks have been great - she pays lip service to us walking together daily, but we both know that I want to go further and faster than she can manage now. Will she be miffed? No, I genuinely think she will be proud of me. She knows this hasn't been a shortcut or a cheat or anything like that - she sees what I eat and how I exercise and she knows she could have had this too. She knows it's been an effort and therefore something to be celebrated. Now, if I'd only do something about my hair... |
