Oh, and I seem to recall FWW doing a 10 inch blade test like 20 years ago.

The Forrest II won

A lot has happened in the last 14 years...

DanaC 06-06-2016 02:53 PM

Have you looked on youtube to see if any vid reviews?

Anecdotally, I bought a thin kerf Freud Diablo with a high tooth count to be a trash blade on my saw, and it's my "go to" blade now instead of the one that came with the Delta. It's got the teflon-ish coating and the thin kerf is nice. It makes a nice crosscut and rip.

I have not tested it against 20 other blades under consistent laboratory conditions though. YMMV

footfootfoot 06-06-2016 04:45 PM

I've got a few of those, I've used Bosch, Freud, Diablo, Forrest, Vermont American, Irwin, Dewalt, and a few others. The quality of cut varies a lot as does the life span. Of them all, the Forrest was so far ahead of the others, but it's spendy and I bought mine 20 years ago. I was thinking there may be some new contenders out there.

It's more of a pissing about google searching and not so much help me find a saw blade. I've already gotten a replacement.

Have I mentioned Windows 10 recently?

gvidas 06-06-2016 10:15 PM

f3, try site: limiting your search by to some industry-specific forums that you trust. i.e, john bridge for tile, JLC for structural/framing, practical machinist for metal, maybe sawmillcreek in your specific case.

Fuckers installed ... or tried to install that shit while I was at work.
Apparently it didn't take and reverted me back to 7 thankfully. Only took about 90 minutes to get me back. assholes

Dear Win10 - Go fuck off somewhere else. I don't want you nor your fucking tiles and apps and shit. LEAVE ME ALONE.

I've been using GWX Control panel. It's a junkyard dog that stays out of sight until it sees MS try to slip in one of the precursors to foisting 10 on you, then it jumps out and seizes them by the neck, shaking them violently until they vanish. It lets all the other updates waltz right in. You can chain it up or let it work, even send it back to the junkyard. It's free.

footfootfoot 06-09-2016 11:52 AM

I had that too before I had to switch to linux. It's great.

Fucking recruiters with their 'video interview' bollocks. Like being asked interview questions isn't stressful enough without having '60 seconds to prepare and then recording will start automatically' and 50 seconds to answer 'and recording will stop automatically'.

Fucking hateful. Hate it, hate it, hate it. It's a horrible experience.

I do not expect I'll be invited to the face to face interviews on the basis of the answers I gave :P

'Give an example of a time you went above and beyond for a customer - hint: what did you do? What was the outcome? What did the customer think of your performance? What do you think is important in customer service?'

Fucking horrible.
