Looks like there are some kinks to be worked out, but:

It's up for auction.
How about something for Mom?

Gravdigr 05-04-2017 03:49 PM

Momdigr used to have a pink-gripped Ruger SP101.

The matching ammo pouch is a nice touch.

Silver bullets or GTFO.

Those modifications were so it could be carried and fired from inside a coat pocket, the long coats with deep pockets from that firearm's heyday. Smooth grips, bobbed hammer, rear sight notch and front sight blade were to reduce snagging on pocket material. Some of them even had all the sharp angles of the frame and cylinder radiused. It saved wear and tear on the pockets too.

The cut out trigger guard was so pocket material wouldn't keep you from squeezing the trigger even if material got wadded up; or, stretched out alongside the guard, The bobbed hammer didn't actually make the revolver DAO. The trigger could still squeezed slightly to raise the hammer far enough for it could be thumb cocked SA style; however, it was intended for just DA use.

With today's style of coats and their smaller pockets, the safety tradeoff of a cut out trigger guard isn't worthwhile.

With the cut trigger guard it's harder to maintain trigger discipline like Annie.
Maybe Dr Dana's great grandmother, looks a little like her.

Sometimes you can bring a knife to a gunfight.
If that doesn't work there's air power.

Gravdigr 05-06-2017 04:40 PM

Hah! It shoots spark plugs!

That's how the Red Dawn people in Idaho will defeat the tanks and A-10 Warthogs, if the hose is long enough and the compressor don't quit.

Well, how you gonna defeat thousands of armed men scattered through the forest, like when we beat the Redcoats? :sniper:

Spend five minutes vaporizing the forest. http://cellar.org/2015/shades.gif
