Clodfobble 07-25-2007 09:42 AM

Here's a hint: the I word has already been said in this round.

Clodfobble 07-25-2007 10:53 PM

Come on, no guess Flint? You're supposed to be the pimp at this game.

Flint 07-25-2007 10:56 PM

I'm gonna say the I word is Italian, thus the A word is artichokes, thus the C word must be canned?

Clodfobble 07-25-2007 10:57 PM

Nope.

I promise, it follows the rules--it's a real product that you'd really call by all three words, not some cheater term like "chicken meat" or something...

Flint 07-25-2007 10:58 PM

Is the I word quoted here?
Quote:

creamy Italian asparagus

Clodfobble 07-25-2007 11:00 PM

Yes. And it isn't Italian.

Flint 07-25-2007 11:01 PM

I didn't ask that. Please, don't over-hint.

DucksNuts 07-25-2007 11:27 PM

Youre soooo anal

This one is tough. Good job.

I'm guessing I is for in because the others are way too specific, but I can't figure out what could possibly go with in. I've head of meat being "bone in" but what could be "C.. in"? Or it could be something in some sort of sauce. I like the "in aspic" idea, but stores don't sell chicken in aspic, or cherries in aspic, etc. At least not around here.

is it
chicken in aspic
cherries in aspic

Flint 07-26-2007 11:59 AM

Something... India Ale? What are those high hops content beers called?

Uisge Beatha 07-26-2007 12:03 PM

I expect you're thinking of IPA - India Pale Ale

bluecuracao 07-26-2007 08:24 PM

I'm going to take a wild guess here, and say that the 'I' is definitely not 'iodized.'

Clodfobble 07-27-2007 05:13 PM

Is it time for another hint?

theotherguy 07-27-2007 05:43 PM

yes. Flint, close your eyes.

Clodfobble 07-27-2007 05:47 PM

The middle word is "in" and the first word is plural.

theotherguy 07-27-2007 05:48 PM

carrots in absentia

Clodfobble 07-27-2007 05:51 PM

Also, the last word is not Latin.

theotherguy 07-27-2007 05:52 PM

Damn! Well, then I am out of guesses. I will probably have a "duh" moment when someone gets it correct.

Uisge Beatha 07-27-2007 06:07 PM

This could fly since Mr. Clodfobble delivered that wonderful riposte.......

Clodfobbles In Austin

:D

Sundae 07-28-2007 08:54 AM

I simply cannot come up with anything, so asked my housemate
Perhaps I didn't explain the game clearly enough

In response to the CIA prompting he came up with Pigs in Blankets
I am still laughing

Clodfobble 07-28-2007 09:56 AM

See, now I've begun to suspect that this is just a product that no one north of the Mason-Dixon line has ever heard of. But people living in my state wouldn't consider it unusual in the slightest. Alright, how's this: I have posted at least two recipes on the Cellar that included this ingredient.

Sundae 07-28-2007 10:12 AM

I would never have got this in a million years without the clue
So I feel a bit shabby... but it's my only chance of ever getting one:

chipotles in adobo

Uisge Beatha 07-28-2007 10:27 AM

Adobo! :smack: Excellent, Sundae - methinks you hit it.

Clodfobble 07-28-2007 11:27 AM

WOO!! Chipotles in adobo!!

SundaeGirl 4 teh WIN!!

lumberjim 07-28-2007 11:31 AM

adobo? isn't that a little house made of clay?

wolf 07-28-2007 11:32 AM

Must be the Southwestern equivalent of Log Cabin Syrup.

Clodfobble 07-28-2007 11:34 AM

It's the spicy sauce they usually come in.

And I would definitely put them on waffles before eating the abomination that is syrup, so I suppose they are roughly equivalent. :)

Not when we're talking Log Cabin, no.

I don't think they even used maple trees to build that stupid cabin, and it's not in the plastic, or in the flavored liquid-state plastic that's in the bottle

jinx 07-28-2007 03:04 PM

When I was a kid my family was still tapping our own sugar maples and cooking our own syrup over a smoky fire in a little wooden outbuilding behind the barn.
One of the first breakfasts I had at LJ's house, they had King syrup on the table. It was almost a relationship ender.
