I am completely mystified by surly nate's picture.

By the way, that looks like a cool house, sn. Was it built in the 1930s?

surly_nate 03-07-2008 01:35 PM

muhahahahahahaaaa! gawd bless photoshop and square sections of images that are easy to cut and paste lol.

this is one of those older house/duplex things behind the "big house" in good ol' Austin Tx. Hyde Park to be exact. There are lots of cool lil' places in my section of town, and many of the places are under renovation raising rent prices all around. yayyyy!

Cool picture. My eye was drawn to the "tile" on the wall in back. Are those just grout lines marked into plaster, or are they real ceramic tiles? There's a funny little squiggle in one grout line that makes these 'tiles' look fake.

That built-in cabinet reminds me of my old apartment, the third floor in a house built in 1880-something. It was actually 4 flights up (due to the high ceilings on floors 1 and 2), but it was a neat old place, balcony with pillars off the kitchen, big claw-foot tub. Love those old houses.

yuppers, it is some sort of fake tile goin' on there. i dunno' why there is some grout there either... must be covering up some cracks in the vynil or plastic.

i love the wood flooring in the place too. it makes it easy for cleaning up and it is fun to watch the cat trying to get traction when she has her spazz kitty moments. :3eye:

lol!! I just like the look of utter disgust, contrasted with the self-satisfied double bird...Well played Nate...and welcome!

So Nate...What is the "axe effect"? Is it a good thing or wha.......
