We've been contemplating an air fryer for a long time. How is it on cleanup?

That's pig-wrapped-pig, Precious!

We got one for xmas. Cleanup is simple, most times you can just clean the cookery basket and it's done. Some things you can just wipe up with a towel. Sometimes you need to get drips/crumbs etc out of the area under the basket but it is usually very quick.

Certain things suddenly become "oh that's how we'll do that from now on". I have a frozen chicken entree I regularly buy, which takes 45 minutes from frozen to done, including preheating the oven... in this thing, done in 20 mins

Mozz sticks, 8 mins from frozen to done

i agree with all of that.

So good it'll make your pecker hard.

Looks delicious and super easy. Now I want one!

Does the stuff really come out crispy and "fried" tasting? Or is it just a tiny, super-efficient convection oven?

lumberjim 01-19-2019 11:21 AM

I'll have to get back to you there. Last night I bought frozen motz sticks corn dogs and frozen uncooked battered chicken tenderloins.
Didn't cook any of it yet, but I'll let you know.

Undertoad 01-19-2019 01:14 PM

It crisps, because it is a tiny convection oven :) It just replaces frying as a technique for getting things heated up fast, but it doesn't replace the flavor-enhancing quality of actual fats.

I wonder if I could just use it like a toaster, though. Drop one of the Jimmy Dean breakfast swammiches in there and give it 4 minutes or so... Bet it would be fine.
I saw a recipe for a Monte Cristo in the book
