Yay Della! I love that the game is "Grab the toy then run AS FAR AWAY AS I CAN!" (My dog likes that game, too.)

It's not MY dog, it's my brother's dog. I don't know why he's a conehead, but this pic cracked me up!

Shawnee123 07-02-2010 08:50 AM

I found out he had a hotspot that got infected. He's now on steroids (mom says this puts him off the Olympic team) and can't swim for a week. My dad takes him down to his land o' lakes swimming quite often, so dad is disappointed too!

Must've been one helluva party. He's still wearing the lampshade, upside down!

Shawnee123 07-02-2010 12:13 PM

HA! That's what my mom said. My other brother said they should hide the tequila.

@Slick
Cats don't have to follow the laws of physics.

@Shaw's bros dog
Awww! Poor doggie, those things suck.
The expression on his face is pretty hilarious.

Shawnee123 07-02-2010 08:52 PM

Heh, right on both counts, mtp! :)

Cats do not obey any laws, let alone the laws of physics. I know this from having two kitties ages 15 and 17.

Yeah, he's a pretty funny dog. He's not as smart as his predecessor Zeke (RIP my buddy) but that is part of why I love him. Big dumb sweetheart. :)

How is your new darling doing?

morethanpretty 07-02-2010 11:05 PM

She's good, needs a playmate still. Tomorrow she meets my SIL's dog so hopefully they'll get along. He's in an E-collar too, just got fixed, so no playing for now. My sis's new dog did not get along with her, the sis's dog is very toy-jealous. My dog has a stubborn streak about coming when called. She does fine inside the house, but outside....only a 10% chance she'll listen. When she gets that way, food and even trying to get her to chase you is completely useless. Only thing that really works is getting her to chase Buddy, the black lab, into the house. I'm really worried about the danger it is, she escaped from the yard the other day and almost got hit by a truck on the road. I was following along calling to her, but not close enough to do anything but watch when the truck came around the corner.

Here's another pic, I don't think I've posted this one yet...

She is realllllly cute.
Can you take a class, learn how to train her? Our vet has them going on all the time...

Undertoad 07-03-2010 12:19 PM

Obedience classes are kind of fun, you get to meet all the other dogs and people, and the dog gets a lot out of it.

morethanpretty 07-03-2010 01:01 PM

I want to take an obedience class, I have some books already. We've done well with sit, down, up. Stop, and stay are a little successful. Her not coming to me when I call is pure stubbornness I'm pretty sure and most training is treat/toy based, she doesn't seem interested in either when she wants to run away.
