Secret Santa

Are we gonna do one this year???!!??? I was just wondering cuz all the Christmas things out in the store is making me excited. :D

zippyt 10-09-2010 01:58 AM

im in !!!!!!!!

casimendocina 10-09-2010 02:02 AM

I tripped over some Christmas decorations in the post office this morning and thought it was a bit early.

Very bah humbuggy of me. I'm thinking here of the line in "About a Boy" where the main character is wandering through a supermarket and Christmas music starts playing and he says: "November, the sodding 19th"...and he laments the fact that gearing up for xmas starts earlier every year. Having said that, getting pressies for people is always fun so why not.

limey 10-09-2010 02:27 AM

I'm in!

Aliantha 10-09-2010 05:10 AM

I'll be counted out. After the shabby reception I got last year for the gift I sent, after having to repost my gift because my recipient gave me the wrong address in the first place, I have a sour taste in my mouth.

There was no reason to dredge up old grudges.

I'm a bit on shaky ground financially, but I would love to be involved. I just won't be able to afford the post overseas so I'll have to request to be kept in the North American pool only. :(
Sorry friends across the pond.

Evidently, seeing as that was the year before.

Clodfobble 10-09-2010 07:39 AM

I loves me some Christmas. Count me in!

BrianR 10-09-2010 10:24 AM

I groaned aloud when I walked into Lowe's yesterday and saw the Christmas stuff out and ready. Earlier than usual. But the first Christmas tree place opened like a week ago. I think they are gearing up for Xmas 2011 this year.

That rant aside...sign me up this year. Things have improved greatly this year and I'm feeling uncharacteristically jolly.

no better way to end that feeling than a successful outcome after another try. C'mon Ali share the love ;)

I'm in...

fargon 10-09-2010 01:13 PM

Really? Oh well, the last couple of years have been a bit of a blur for me. It is true that I was bitterly disappointed at the time though. One of my most depressing gift giving experiences.

I'll still pass though. I've decided it's too expensive to participate.

monster 10-09-2010 08:18 PM

...because you refused to stick to the expenditure guidelines. They were there for a reason but you had to find out for yourself. You made your own bed, now lie in it. And hush now, because it's after lights-out, and the grown-ups want to talk.

Tulip 10-09-2010 09:27 PM

Wow, we've got nine interested so far. Let's wait a bit to see how much more interested and see who'd be willing to organize it. :p:

No, I had to repost the item at $25/per time. That's $50 not including the cost of the gift which if you must know cost around $20 or maybe even a bit less.

Oh and btw monster, it's really a shame you have to be so rude sometimes, but thanks for reminding me why I don't post here much anymore.

classicman 10-10-2010 08:34 AM

BigV 10-10-2010 08:59 PM

I'm in.

Undertoad 10-11-2010 08:20 AM

I am in - for the first time actually

Pico and ME 10-11-2010 07:07 PM

Me too!

Jaydaan 10-11-2010 07:22 PM

I'm in... but hopefully ALL of my gift will get to the person this year. I never did get an answer on *why* the good part of my gift was removed from the package. I did not try again because I did not want to pay that much shipping, to have them take it out again. Then I simply forgot to purchase something else to send. Actually... I will send something out to replace at the same time as I send this years gift out!

I can only do North America as well.. shipping over seas is too expensive for us right now.

footfootfoot 10-11-2010 08:21 PM

I'll be in as well, but not SN. He is a slacker.

busterb 10-11-2010 08:28 PM

Me too!

Nirvana 10-11-2010 10:07 PM

Tulip 10-16-2010 10:42 PM

Juniper 10-16-2010 10:47 PM

I guess I'm in too . . . my recipient seemed happy with what she got, and hopefully my gift will arrive this year in its entirety :)

wolf 10-17-2010 09:34 AM

I'm in!

classicman 10-17-2010 09:39 AM

I'm in as I already said, but I'd like to request, if possible an American Dwellar this year.

casimendocina 10-18-2010 03:44 AM

Maybe Ducks, Ali, Zen and I can organise a Kris Kringle/Secret Santa between us and then there'll be no need for exhorbitant postage.

xoxoxoBruce 10-18-2010 05:07 AM

There appears to be more than enough people so that anyone wishing to avoid overseas can be accommodated.

Aliantha 10-18-2010 05:08 AM

I'd be happy to do that Cas. :)

bluecuracao 10-24-2010 07:35 PM

FYI, you can avoid overseas postage if you order through amazon, gap, etc. :)

monster 10-24-2010 08:11 PM

does Gap have a cock range?

monster 10-24-2010 08:13 PM

You should pee more often. :-)

morethanpretty 10-25-2010 08:30 PM

Sake and vodka make me warm inside. If I don't pee often enough its the insides of my legs that get warm...

Or bookdepository.co.uk

DanaC 10-28-2010 03:03 AM

Is bookdepository the one for charity?

casimendocina 10-28-2010 06:09 AM

Found this in the About Us section of their website.

I quite often buy from their amazon shop.

Tulip 10-28-2010 10:13 AM

Dana: Do you mean "quit"? If yes, why?

xoxoxoBruce 10-28-2010 11:31 AM

If you're shopping Amazon, you should go here first, and click the Amazon link at the left side of the page.;)

BigV 10-28-2010 02:11 PM

When can I expect to learn the name of my <strike>victim</strike> giftee?

BrianR 10-28-2010 05:04 PM

Question: How do we know what to send? I mean, sending foodstuffs to another country can be problematic and what if I send something inappropriate? Is there a suggestion list?

Brian

Happy Monkey 10-28-2010 05:31 PM

You cand send candles, wire, and an alarm clock to any country. Just tape them together with electrical tape so they don't shift during transit.
