I love em', use them more in the music sites because the humor is a bit more caustic in there, but they are my kinda' humor.
Though I have been meaning to make some more positive ones recently.

Stealing is not only acceptable, but encouraged. Mean spirited bombs are meant to be used tongue-in-cheek, so the meaner the better... if you are offended, you need to think about why. (Though I am offended by the term retarded, and it is used a lot. I was a coach and hugger for the special Olympics. I made a bomb about how I felt about the term....)
Oh, bad grammar is also encouraged.
I may have invented the term Thread Bomb... but I'm not sure, so use it with impunity.

BTW, Tail-Posting is another term I came-up with. It is when some dufus posts on a thread at the end without reading all that has come before it.
By the bomb, you can see how I feel about it.

Cuter if smaller, methinks. However, the 'you made baby jesus cry' one made me snicker. :)

I think the size is right, any smaller and they would lose any impact.

I agree, the smaller ones suggest wit whereas the big ones suggest ham-handed bullying.:2cents:

If you read that much into it perhaps I will look into resizing it. I had no idea someone would be so touchy over something like the size, lol.

Perhaps on a site that has ads and flashing sig lines, you know lots of colorful distractions. But here, with basically text and occasional pictures, some of the big garish ones strike me as a WMD, rather than a statement added to a thread. That's probably because I'm an old fart.:lol:

Gotta agree. I've often been known to throw in images I think are relevant--especially cartoons...but if all you have is a comment, and your words can't do the heavy lifting, maybe your words need work. Lots of colorful pics (that somebody else made, in most cases) aren't a substitute thoughtful posting. MySpace is for illiterates.

On the original Cellar, you had to download and view images separately; everybody was on a character-mode connection.

In the current incarnation of The Cellar our thread bombs tend to be limited to the occasional use of the venerable "Grammar Nazi" image.

Well, I did post a Nelson "Ha! Ha!" image in the SUV limo thread. While I thought it was a good comment, I thought it was much too large in its original format. So I shrunk it considerably.

There are still many Dwellars out there on dial-up connections. I think large images should be used judiciously. If they appear in threads outside the usual image areas, they can be an unexpected drag for those on dial-up.

Yeah, that rocked because it was a meaningful part of the comment; you could just hear Nelson's voice and 'tude.

But this "I put a big, slightly strange or gross image here mostly to generate a gut reaction I can't get from my words, which are neither particularly clever, insightful nor well-supported on their own." is annoying.

Not as annoying as the cutesy animal pictures. Christ I hate those.
