It could almost be a Field of 64 type question.

lumberjim 09-23-2006 11:44 PM

i thought about that, but the whole thing seemed to smack of effort. damn! the breakfast club!

Bullitt 09-24-2006 12:10 AM

There's a beverage here.. man!

wolf 09-24-2006 02:14 AM

GIMME BACK MY BABY, YOU WARTHAWG FROM HELL!

(go Raising Arizona!)

Elspode 09-24-2006 07:33 AM

In the Pagan world, there is no more quotable film than Monty Python and The Holy Grail.

"And what else can you burn apart from witches?"

"More witches!"

footfootfoot 09-24-2006 09:15 AM

"God willing, we will prevail, in peace and freedom from fear, and in true health, through the purity and essence of our natural... fluids."

Dr. Strangelove is my most quoted movie, followed by the Magic Christian.

Trilby 09-24-2006 10:15 AM

Python, no contest. There are so many great lines in that movie you can't count 'em all.

"Message for you, sir" and, "Let's not bicker and argue over who killed who." are favorites

vrai_rennx 09-24-2006 10:38 AM

"It's only a flesh wound!" "Ni!"

Python definitely has the most quotable lines.

Happy Monkey 09-24-2006 12:39 PM

Four fried chickens, and a Coke.

rkzenrage 09-24-2006 12:46 PM

"Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father prepare to die. "

"Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something."

"As you wish"

"Inconceivable!"

bluecuracao 09-24-2006 08:17 PM

I think Fight Club should be replaced by Pulp Fiction.

"What ain't no country I ever heard of! They speak English in What?"

Ibby 09-24-2006 08:17 PM

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Ibby 09-24-2006 08:18 PM

AH, yes, bluecuracao is right. Pulp Fiction pwnz hard.

'the one that says Bad Mutha'FUCKAH on it!'

footfootfoot 09-24-2006 09:19 PM

Sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie, but I'll never know...

zippyt 09-24-2006 09:47 PM

Be COOL Honey Bunny !!!!

Torrere 09-24-2006 09:56 PM

Another regularly-quoted movie that didn't make thing list:

"I know kung fu"
"Show me."

Shawnee123 09-25-2006 07:49 AM

Great thread!

I quote Pulp Fiction a lot, as well.

PS I believe you have my stapler

barefoot serpent 09-25-2006 09:59 AM

Zed is dead.

Shawnee123 09-25-2006 10:06 AM

"What ees eet like to keel a man?"

"Have fun storming the castle!"

Sundae 09-25-2006 10:32 AM

Ghostbusters is probably mine, followed by Clueless and The Wizard of Oz (because it's ubiquitous). I'm more likely to quote from sitcoms or stand-up routines though, because I see them more often.

- Madder than Mad Jack McMad, thicker than a whale omelette
- Spraying your belly with sticky white love piss, its's just a saga now, okay-cokey pig-in-a-pokey
- Garlic? Bread?, t'internet

Agree with Blazing Saddles... I use that more than anything.

Though I have never used the one that gets in my head... "The sheriff is a DONG!"
"Its twooo, its TWOOOO!"

"Say WHAT again!" I have said "Look at the brain on Brad" to people.

Most quotable has to be Seinfeld, even though I'm not a huge fan.

Shawnee123 09-25-2006 10:53 AM

I love Murray's line in Ghostbusters, with that smirk on his face "No human could stack books like that."

Trivia: from what movie is this quote:

"Easy peasy japanesy"

Not that there's anything wrong with that.;)

Happy Monkey 09-25-2006 10:55 AM

And if you add TV shows, after eighteen years there's a good chance that you're quoting the Simpsons every day, though maybe not deliberately.

My favorite quote from that movie is "I fart in your general direction".

Tora! Tora! Tora?:o

Shawnee123 09-25-2006 01:17 PM

Sorry! I just knew there are a lot of fans of this movie here in Cellar Land, so I thought I'd throw that in!

It's Shawshank...that line always sticks with me.

ferret88 09-25-2006 01:32 PM

I hafta say I'm surprised at a couple that weren't on the list.

Maybe I'm weird but a LOT of Star Wars (the first three episodes) lines come to mind:
"Do or do not. There is no try."
"I have a bad feeling about this."
"But I was going to Tosche Station to pick up some power converters."
"You can waste time with your friends when your chores are finished."
"I don't care what you smell, you big oaf!"
"Aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper?"
"What a piece of junk!"

And I bet the MOST quoted would have to be Terminator:
"I'll be back!"
How could you have neglected that one?

Spexxvet 09-25-2006 04:58 PM

I can't decide.

Don't forget "Don't get cocky, kid"

dar512 09-27-2006 03:49 PM

I won't be able to come up with a list all at once. However two movies that get quoted a lot in our house:

Ghostbusters:
Ok so, she's a dog.
Yes it's true. This man has no dick.
Dogs and cats -- living together.
Are you the Keymaster?

My Cousin Vinney:
Does that thing come turbocharged?
A quick in and out procedure.
Oh yeah, you blend.
Hey, hey there little Yankee boy.
Dead on balls accurate? It's an industry term.

wolf 09-27-2006 06:51 PM

The only thing from My Cousin Vinny that made it into our office conversation was "Yoots," as in "two Yoots?"

We just always call Monkey Hall the "Yoot Center."

Given the demographic mix, Monkey Hall as a nickname for the local juvenile detention facility is not sufficiently politically correct, and has fallen into disuse. The change of the name to M. County Youth Center is also responsible.

Yes, especially the lecture on the difference between Nazis and Nihilists.

Quote:

Walter Sobchak: Nihilists! Fuck me. I mean, say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos.

True, I mean I'm sure everyone on the Cellar has at some point gotten way too drunk at a party and yelled out 'me so horny', um, right?:worried:

wolf 09-27-2006 10:38 PM

I've done that without being drunk, rich.

Just as an aside, I know the person who Ahnuld delivered that line to in the movie. He is a contractor in Fresno now and he designed and landscaped my back patio, but he also used to do a lot of stunt work and pyrotechnics for the movies. According to Dennis, they had fits with the way Ahnuld was delivering the line because he sounded unconvincing with his heavy accent. Of course, everybody knows how the Terminator does "come back" and runs over Dennis, trapped behind the desk in the police station. He'll have free drinks for the rest of his life with all the behind-the-scenes stories he can tell.

morethanpretty 09-28-2006 08:40 PM

My last two years in HS was HELL because of Napoleon Dynamite.
"Your mom goes to college"
"I love technology"
"Its a liger, a tiger and a lion with magical powers"

Ibby 09-28-2006 10:20 PM

Oh GOD I hate that movie.

Just a personal quotable that has infested (!) my world: Guess it?

(of course with attempted Scottish accent)

"Head! Its like an orange on a toothpick!"

"Go! You've stayed your hour!"

"...the Colonel with his wee beady eyes! He puts an adictive chemical in it that makes you crave it fortnightly!"

"we have a piper down. repeat. A piper is down."

glatt 10-12-2006 03:39 PM
