National "Bash Japanese People" Day!

What are YOU doing to make a Japanese person feel bad today?

Aliantha 12-06-2006 07:37 PM

Nothing

JayMcGee 12-06-2006 07:41 PM

I thought National bash Japanese day was the 6th August?

DanaC 12-06-2006 07:43 PM

No, that's Drown a Frenchman day.

JayMcGee 12-06-2006 07:46 PM

I thought that was October 21?

busterb 12-06-2006 07:46 PM

today is tomorrow here.

DanaC 12-06-2006 07:47 PM

so.....would that make you the Tomorrow People?

JayMcGee 12-06-2006 07:50 PM

nah - they're living in the past over there

Aliantha 12-06-2006 07:52 PM

We here in Oz are the true people of the future. :) We're ahead of you all...in everything really.

DanaC 12-06-2006 07:53 PM

Girl you are so far ahead, you're behind us. :P

Aliantha 12-06-2006 07:55 PM

lol...if you say so

JayMcGee 12-06-2006 07:58 PM

*stands with back to wall*

DanaC 12-06-2006 08:02 PM

*predatory grin*

Urbane Guerrilla 12-06-2006 08:04 PM

I'd found a local 'Nardcore band named "Ventura Ventura Space People." Ventura's just up the road from Oxnard.

Obscure Japanese pop culture reference. Slightly less obscure if space is pronounced "space-eh."

DanaC 12-06-2006 08:05 PM

'nardcore?

JayMcGee 12-06-2006 08:17 PM

I think he mis-spelled 'nerdcore'......

DanaC 12-06-2006 08:18 PM

ohhhh. thanks.

Aliantha 12-06-2006 08:19 PM

I thought he meant 'hardcore'

JayMcGee 12-06-2006 08:33 PM

hey, ali , look up there..... at those irony things flying way above your dear little head.....

Aliantha 12-06-2006 08:35 PM

What are irony things? lol

lookout123 12-06-2006 09:38 PM

is it time for internm... oh never mind.

footfootfoot 12-07-2006 06:07 AM

I may have shared this story here before, My dad had a coworker, another WWII South Pacific veteran, who wold celebrate Dec. 7 this way: He'd go out to eat at a Japanese restaurant and order a huge meal of the most expensive stuff, eat and drink as much as he could hold and then he'd beat the check.

Q: How do you save a Frenchman from drowning?

A: Take your foot off his head.

I'm sure I'll think of something, but I prefer to be spontaneous about it.

Just being an American is usually sufficient, though.

Clodfobble 12-07-2006 01:45 PM

Originally from the Humor thread, and still one of my favorite jokes of all time:

If you spin an Asian person around, do they get disoriented?

barefoot serpent 12-07-2006 02:26 PM

Port Hueneme core just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Urbane Guerrilla 12-10-2006 09:06 PM

Wot Serp sed. And irony things are bad if they clock you on the skull.

It's a local quip; hardcore music from bands from Oxnard and environs: Social Distortion and Dr. Know are a couple of bands that have been local for what seems like forever, as bands go. And Ventura is a town just up the road...

...no Urusei Yatsura fans here? Or are you just keeping quiet?

rkzenrage 12-12-2006 12:40 AM

Some old "feel good" propaganda

Aliantha 12-12-2006 01:24 AM

Jesus Christ, I thought this was a joke thread. Do you people seriously think it's a day to go out and make Japanese people feel bad?

I wonder if they have 'make Americans feel bad' days.

rkzenrage 12-12-2006 05:08 AM

No... I don't... I just found that not too long ago and it stuck with me. Of course I don't subscribe to that kind of thing. It was meant to show how stupid people can be... I could easily have been the cartoons from the dutch newspaper recently.
Only someone who takes that kind of thing seriously... hopefully no one in here actually would feel that way about Asians... well, perhaps one, he hates everyone else... but other than that...

DanaC 12-12-2006 05:17 AM

........I still think we should have a National Drown a Frenchman Day.

Torrere 12-12-2006 11:37 AM

You can celebrate that on June 3rd.

rkzenrage 12-12-2006 12:01 PM

What about kick whitey day?

Urbane Guerrilla 12-12-2006 07:48 PM

Somehow, rkz, I don't think masochism is exactly Zen. ;)

rkzenrage 12-14-2006 02:09 AM

But... I've been so bad.

Urbane Guerrilla 12-18-2006 12:55 AM

That was Zen, this is ow?!

...of course you realize you're being brutally pun-ished?

rkzenrage 12-18-2006 02:43 AM

Mmmmmmmm.... tasty!

steppana 12-18-2006 04:48 AM

"That was Zen, this is ow?!"

Douze points to UG for that!

Adam Clarke 12-22-2006 02:29 AM

Stare at a jap wide-eyed.
When it says "WHAT?"
Just respond with "Why can't you open your eyes wide like me?"
