self depreciation by celebrity comparison challenge

Please submit your simularites to celebrities. Real or imagined, positive or negative. Mine are all negative.

I am as dorky as Drew Barrymore. As lost as Pheobe but perhaps hiding an intellect,( for whatever reason) as chunky as Rene Zellweger and the same coloring too which looks horrible. My fear is I will get as fatter and look like Sally Struthers or Stevie Nicks in my old age.

rkzenrage 01-07-2007 04:17 PM

Spent a lot of time with Drew, her agent was in the same building as my work for some time. I also ran into her at second-hand shops (shared hobby). We both liked the same things and just ran into each other quite a bit and ended-up eating lunch a few times. Not lunch date, just outside eating lunch at the same time and ate together and ended-up shopping together.
She is very dorky and very cool at the same time.
One of the nicest people I have ever met. That has nothing to do with her job, I worked with a lot of actors. She is just a very nice, loving, person.

I am a lot like no celebrity I can think of.

footfootfoot 01-07-2007 07:13 PM

Whe I was 35 pounds lighter and was working as a gaffer I got compared to John Cusack a lot. esp by people who worked with him, they said we even had the same mannerisms.

Here's the freaky part, I lived in Evanston, IL his hometown around the time he was born/conceived... pics to follow

DucksNuts 01-07-2007 10:01 PM

Hmmm - I have no clue....

Someone do it for me?

PS - I'd *do* Drew

lumberjim 01-07-2007 10:16 PM

i also look like Drew.

Drew Carey.

if he ate Keifer Sutherland

kerosene 01-07-2007 10:49 PM

I have been compared to Wynona Ryder (sp?) and also Helen Hunt. I don't think I look or act like either.

Aliantha 01-07-2007 10:51 PM

Kleptomaniac? lol

Shawnee123 01-08-2007 07:56 AM

When I was thinner:

Jamie Lee Curtis (without the perfect body and the too-skinny face)

Sandra Bullock

Those I heard most often...think I just have one of those faces that look like a lot of other faces?

Sundae 01-08-2007 08:34 AM

When I was thinner, younger and had just had quite a severe haircut I looked like Bridget Fonda in Single White Female - apparently.

And a long term friend of mine swears (again when I'm thinner) that at the right angle I'm a dead ringer for Helen Hunt. Maybe she has one of those faces :) Anyway he complained I ruined What Women Want for him, because the camera kept catching her just right and making him think - ooh, SG!

I have been compared to Phoebe for being "random" (actually I was being funny, but hey) and Daisy Steiner from Spaced for similar reasons.

The most oddest comparison I can remember was when a friend watched Pulp Fiction and told the rest of our group that Uma Thurman's character really reminded her of me. To the extent it was the first thing she said when her boyfriend asked her what she thought of the film. Never quite worked out why, but I liked it.

That is a great compliment. I love Uma and love the character Mrs Mia Wallace!

Bullitt 01-08-2007 10:38 AM

I have been told my voice sounds like Owen Wilson's, and when I get dressed in a sleeveless plaid shirt, my camo john deer trucker hat and jeans, and don't shave for a week I bear a remarkable resemblance to Larry the Cable Guy.
Personality-wise: mix between Vince Vaughn and John Krasinksi (Jim from The Office)

Personality-wise I'm the perfect cross of Tigger and Eeyore. :p

My ex used to tell me I acted just like Elaine on Seinfeld.

Spexxvet 01-08-2007 12:37 PM

I've been told that I look like Kevin Smith, but I think I look more like PeeWee's neighbor from PeeWee's Big Adventure.

rkzenrage 01-08-2007 12:39 PM

Michael Ironside

Sheldonrs 01-08-2007 12:46 PM

When I'm thin, I'm told I look exactly like Michael Stipe from R.E.M.

And when I was at my heaviest, I was actually asked if I wanted to work as a double for Butterbean the wrestler. :D

barefoot serpent 01-08-2007 01:52 PM

I have been mistaken for Dennis Quaid a couple of times: once at a hospital in LA and once at a ski resort in Colorado.

That's bizarre. I have been compared to Daisy Steiner, and was also compared to someone in Pulp Fiction: but it wasn't Uma, it was the girl from the diner, who holds the place up, with her boyfriend......someone said to me "I could really imagine you in that role".

Amanda Plummer. A great actress. I saw her in the play "Agnes of God" on broadway. Amazing performance.

I used to get the Matthew Perry thing a lot, before I lost my hair...

skysidhe 01-09-2007 07:28 AM

That website is neat.

My top was Mandy Moore.

Now that's funny. :p

I see the celebrity comparisons on the random Livejournal images page all the time, and after seeing about 100 people try it, most of the people do not really look like the celebrities they are given when you stop to look at them.

I see where they get the comparison, facial features and such, but of course it's not like spittin' image comparison. It's not entirely random, either.

What would be cool would be to start a website where everyone is compared against everyone, average Joe and Josephine, and find your double we're all supposed to have.

(Techies: if this website flies I get a cut! :) I have another great idea for a site that I don't have the wherewithall to implement.)

Trilby 01-09-2007 09:40 AM

I've been compared to Lindsay Wagner (the Bionic Woman) looks-wise. Some smarty-pants once told me I reminded him of Julie Andrews in Sound of Music. I'm pretty sure he was kidding.

lumberjim 01-09-2007 09:48 AM

i usually get Mr Incredible. but you knew that.

Sure, the same way I get John Holmes. :right:

Sundae 01-09-2007 10:00 AM

I'd forgotten about this site. I didn't have access to as many photos last time I tried it - much more fun now.

Except for my family. My Mum is Javier Perez de Cuellar and my Dad is Magic Johnson apparently. Ridiculous. That's Auntie Alice and Uncle Ted.

(edited to remove screen pics - can't seem to get them any smaller than A4, which makes the post too long in my opinion)

xoxoxoBruce 01-09-2007 07:49 PM

I don't get the celebrity comparisons, I get they have seen my twin;
1- back home
2- in school, sometimes fraternity or dorm
3- cousin's, sister-in-law's, father's boss
4- ad nauseum

every fat guy with a beard, I suspect.

Beest (the other half) looks like The Undertaker. We had no idea who The Undertaker was when we saw this bobblehead doll in a toyshop on a one week "look-see" visit to the US six years ago, but we knew it was really a bobble-head doll of Beest. It's so good, that people still ask where he got it made as they'd like to get one done of their mother/lover/dog/whatever. It's not actiually a very good likeness of The Undertaker, but it's Beest to a t.

Perry Winkle 01-14-2007 09:37 AM

I don't get compared to celebrities.

Some people think I should act or be a politician. A couple of my artist friends want me to sit for them to paint.

People tend to think my name sounds "very American", "very dignified", or "like an actor's."

Athletic people can't believe I never played a competitive sport. Men with inferiority complexes can't believe I've never been in a physical fight either.

People confuse the shit out of me...

Personally, I think I look kind of like Ray Stevenson (Titus Pullo from the Rome series on HBO) which I hope is self-deprecating enough for you all.

AgentApathy 01-14-2007 07:01 PM

Until a few years ago, I got Celine Dion from *every* one, all the time. I got so sick of it! Either she went out of vogue or I look different, because I don't get that as much anymore, but I do still get Helen Hunt sometimes.

DucksNuts 01-14-2007 11:09 PM

Ohh, my girlfriend reminded me that I often get Tina Arena

I think not, she has fake boobs....but well...maybe with a little air brushing.

skysidhe 02-08-2007 08:44 AM

It's been awhile. Good comparisons guys. Oh and the Bionic woman and Tina Arena are totally likeable!

Shawnee123 02-08-2007 12:07 PM

Why, in most of her pictures, does she have a look on her face like she has to fart? :p

kerosene 02-08-2007 09:12 PM

I have received the Wynona Ryder (sp?) comparisons as well as Helen Hunt (which I don't get).

She is in fact a vampire. Unfortunately her lips are too fat now and she can't close them without spearing herself with her fangs.

Oh, and she has to fart.
